Wondering if someone can help me out real quick, this doesn't warrant a thread.

Just looking for some general rules of thumb for some time signatures. For instance in 4/4 you could say a rule of thumb is the bass drum on 1 and 3, and snare on 2 and 4. Are there things like that for 3/4, 5/4, etc.?

Static 02-09-2008 05:51 PM

Generally -
3/4 - Bass on 1, snare on 1 a measure later
5/4 - Bass on 1, 3, 5, snare on 2, 4

but this is all general **** - don't follow it.

I'm just mixing down some MIDI crap and didn't really know where to go with the drum aspect of it. Thanks for the ideas though.

Static 02-09-2008 05:58 PM

What are you mixing it on? If it's GP5, you can send me the file and I'll do it for you.

Tryxx 02-09-2008 06:08 PM

Doing it with GP5 right now, but my download for Reason 4 is almost done, so I'm going to mess with that next.

That's what I'm messing with off, but the track gets off at about 36 seconds. Right now it's really simple, just need to learn a bit more to give the drums some variety.

That Crissy Moran picture is soooo hot. She's a babe for sure.

And I'm in love with VST and Midi now:
