Well I knew that Iommi used Laney at some point and Marshalls at another but I really have no idea what he usedin the ozzy era.
|
Well not much is happening in this thread. Ill set things off by starting a little trivia.
What year did Ozzy first leave Black Sabbath? |
1977.
Replaced by Dave Walker (I think thats his name) Came back in 1978. Released Never Say Die! Finally kicked out in late 1978/early 1979. |
Damnit beaten to it (probably by a long way).
didn't they scrap all the work they did with him because ozzy refused to sing it. |
Anyone going to see them at Download?
I am :D With backstage V.I.P tickets so I'll be meeting them hehe :p |
...i hate you, you lucky bastard
|
Transport me back to 1973 then I'd be really jealous of you.
|
lol, why 73?
hwy your postcount says 73 at the end of it. |
1973 = Vol.4 tour, when the Sabbath MK 1 line-up were at their best.
|
Mk 1?
|
*sigh*
Mk 1 Black Sabbath = Ozzy/Geezer/Iommi/Bill Mk 2 = Dio/Geezer/Iommi/Bill Mk 3 = Dio/Geezer/Iommi/Vinny etc... There have been roughly 40 different Black Sabbath line-ups. |

you know that coke download thing, very good quality songs. How come they dont have any early black sabbath stuff?
|
What coke download thing?
|
1973 = Vol.4 tour, when the Sabbath MK 1 line-up were at their best.
ah right, i see... I think that you can download music with coca-cola now so that must be what he ment (that was to rippa) |
Actually they only wrote a couple of songs with him and I think Ozzy sang it, I can't quite remember.
EDIT: It was juniors eyes and the lyrics are different on ozzy's version.
They actually wrote an entire albums worth of material, and played an early version of Juniors Eyes on TV with Dave. When Ozzy came back he didn't want to use any of the stuff that had been written, so they wrote what we now know as Never Say Die! |

What the hell is happening to this thread? It ended up on page 6. Ill try some trivia again.
Who replaced Dio in the last two dates of the Dehuminizer tour which Dio refused to sing for? |
Rob Halford.
This thread is dyeing abit snt it. |
Anyway it doesnt matter.
anyone know any decent sabbath tribute bands (aside from that ausralian one).
theres an all female sabbath tribute band bassed in L.A. I think, they are called mistresses of reality, ther'e pretty good |
Speaking of Halford was any one at the ozzfest in jersey where halford sang with sabbath? I thought he did pretty good except paranoid......
|
I've got a few songs from his 1992 performances.
They're not great, but his voice adds an interesting twist to the Sabbath songs. I downloaded a nice rare live Sabbath song from 1969 last night :) |
what song?
|
I can't remember the name, but it was quite jazzy.
Also easy to find, if you use your brain. |
Thats not fair, i cant use mine!
|
Your problem, not mine :p
|
It will be everyones problem when i rule the world.

Im surprised at the quality of it considering its a bootleg from 1969. Its a shame you cant hear what Ozzy is singing though. |
btw, who sang on black sabbath's version of smoke on the water?
