Majesty And Decay is good, but not really essential.

Dawn Of Posession, Failures For Gods, and Close To A World Below are essential imo.

DBlitz 04-09-2011 02:08 AM

Here In After and Unholy Cult are better than the first two you mentioned imo

Dawn of Possession isn't very essential imo

publicastration 04-09-2011 02:09 AM

Shadows in the Light is underrated.

Angmar 04-09-2011 02:34 AM

Close to a World Below and Here in After are my favs.

MalleusMaleficarum 04-09-2011 11:44 AM

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that Close to a World Below is the only actual essential album they made

DBlitz 04-09-2011 11:59 AM

uh nope

Stevie 04-09-2011 01:39 PM

close to a world below and unholy cult are the only essential albums
but here in after and failures for gods are also v important

Morumbar 04-09-2011 04:39 PM

Been listening to Majesty and Decay a hell of a lot lately. It's the album that got me into Immolation. I've actually only really gotten into death metal about half a year ago.

What Immolation album would you say is most similar to MaD, or which album would you guys recommend me next?

adb 04-09-2011 04:46 PM

Deeds of Flesh - Of what's to come

get what deth said and unholy cult too

best order might be either close to a world below or unholy cult first, then after those two get here in after

blockhead 04-09-2011 10:05 PM

still working on downloading that whole list you posted justin. and yes mappy i will get what you rec'd too. i'm 4 albums in so far.

EDIT: just curious what's wrong with deeds of flesh? I have never heard them or any thing but are they like the green day of death metal or something?

xMalcolmXx 04-09-2011 10:39 PM

idk, i dont really mind that deeds album but their other stuff is pretty cheesy tech death

blockhead 04-09-2011 10:41 PM

i don't really like the slick production of most of the tech death i've heard. i like more raw sounding production in most genres especially hardcore and punk

blockhead 04-09-2011 10:50 PM
did this blockhead guy just start listening to music or what why is he suddenly participating in music related threads
i mostly listen to hardcore and punk. i'm trying to get into death metal because i like what i've heard.

why are you criticizing me for participating in music threads?

faggot
anyways any new DM albums i missed?

they aren't that bad. i think they may get a lot of hate (more than what they otherwise would get) because of Anthracks. they definitely aren't what green day is to punk.

i think i've listened to most of their albums, the only one of their albums that is really different from the rest is the one adb mentioned.

i think that one fits 'cheesy' tech death much more than the rest of their discog. that one has leads and stuff, where as the rest just don't have anything that melodic.

all of their other albums sound more or less the same, with a bunch of riffs almost repeated (just slightly varied). but they do have some good riffs.

what all was on the list i dont remember

and deeds of flesh is just wank death, ultra nice production and all that, raw stuff is better imo

DBlitz 04-09-2011 11:33 PM
and deeds of flesh is just wank death, ultra nice production and all that
seriously, the only one that fits this description is their newest album

Juddybear 04-09-2011 11:34 PM

whatev the band just sucks in general is my point

adb 04-09-2011 11:35 PM

you guys are officially retarded

the production on of whats to come is not glossy at all

or "ultra nice" what the fuck does that even mean

Juddybear 04-09-2011 11:36 PM

compared to real death metal its not grimy or filthy or any of that good stuff

adb 04-09-2011 11:37 PM

yeah all good death metal needs horrible mixing and production value

Juddybear 04-09-2011 11:39 PM

i didnt say horrible i said grimy/filthy there is a diff

DBlitz 04-09-2011 11:39 PM
