BassVirtuoso 12-09-2004 07:49 PM

YIM Chat! My name is bassvirtuoso...IM me and i'll invite you in.

Mr. Jiggy Fly 12-09-2004 07:50 PM

BTW, I tried out for my school jazz band on upright today. Total time spent with an upright- approx 2-3 hours in 2 months. Lets take bets on whether or not ill make it.
hey luke
Do you use AIM for jams sometimes?
Ummm ... I have used it a couple times if I want to show someone (like in my band) a line that I wrote. But I like YIM about 10000x better, but there really hasn't been a lot of that (or time for me to do that) recently.

bottlerocket 12-09-2004 07:50 PM

I should hop on YIM...I'm up for a jam.

Unfortunately, my bass/amp aren't up here now. Therefore, I can't play or contribute, really. I'll sound dumb.

I'll have to pass. Maybe next time.
The problem is there's not enough room in my house at the moment or in the house of my drummer. I need smaller cabs that I can get a big sound out of. I'm thinking thus far about two of the 1x12s or a 1x12 and a 2x10 Neo. :p
^.^

Crap, I forgot. I have an amp now too.

bottlerocket 12-09-2004 07:53 PM

I need a good head that's about 850 USD (+50) for an Avatar B212.

Suggestions so I can go to GC and try one out?

Im Me Guys!

Foxfire 12-09-2004 07:55 PM

Ampeg SVT-3 Pro?
Gallien Krueger 1001RB?

You could be cool like me and go poweramp+preamp. When I get a full 2 ohms going I'll be getting 400x2 watts (stereo, bitches  )

madthumbs 12-09-2004 07:57 PM

i cant get any sound when i plug my bass into the comp anymore :(.. no recording for me

Foxfire 12-09-2004 07:58 PM

Unless I get a B212 and then clear room for a drumset in my house...hmm..........

Left Shoe 12-09-2004 07:58 PM

mathumbs check your settings , sometimes my mic volume goes all the way to mute and im never sure why

Mr. Jiggy Fly 12-09-2004 08:00 PM

I recommend the G-K 1001rb (I have it). Very loud, good tone.

Ampeg Ba-210 awesome combo. i have one and it is super loud and has a really cool tone control system that works really good. :thumb: that is if you want a combo in the frist place...i think i saw cabs in your post. oh well :amaze:

bottlerocket 12-09-2004 08:05 PM

Yeah, I actually played that GK head and I loved it. It was between that or the RBX-700, but I think the RBX-700II is too much.

Hm, how much do you think the (rough) perimeter of a drumset is? 8 x 8?

BassVirtuoso 12-09-2004 08:09 PM

Ahem...YIM Chat....we need people. IM ME
Hm, how much do you think the (rough) perimeter of a drumset is? 8 x 8?
really depends on the drumset, 8x8 might be a bit too big, by band played on a float for my school and it was only probably 5 feet wide, 6 at the most

madthumbs 12-09-2004 08:10 PM

works now :>

drum forum could tell you

This'll be a basic 5 piece with a crash, hi-hat, and ride. I was thinking 8x8 might be too large, but better to be too big than too small. ;)

bottlerocket 12-09-2004 08:14 PM

BV: I'll join, but I won't be playing...is that cool?
Hm, how much do you think the (rough) perimeter of a drumset is? 8 x 8?
yeah, if ya got the room, then definatley use it. but since i have nothin better to do i just measured 8x8 on my floor with a tape measure and its really big, a small drumste is probably on like 4x5 or 5x5 or something along those lines.

bottlerocket 12-09-2004 08:17 PM

Nice. Then I'm off MX. Be back later.
