That's cool. Who's Joaquin Phoenix? I've heard a lot about him, but I'm not sure who he is. Reese Witherspoon playing June??? That's odd.

Joaquin Phoenix played the emperor in Gladiator and Mel Gibson's brother in Signs.
ok ok, i admit it, i'm a classic rock nut. i love led zeppelin, the beatles, the who, eric clapton, the doors, and so on. most of the bands i listen to broke up years before i was born. at 17, nearly every song on my playlist is older than me. but is it just my imagination, or is classic rock experiencing sort of a revival. i am running into an increasing number of classic rock fans my age. at my school (an all boys high school), the school newspaper took a poll of everyone's favorite genre and band. led zeppeling got 5th and the beatles got 6th, behind that rap crap. classic rock made up a large percent of ppls favorite genre. is this just by me, or are other ppl noticing this too?

This is the thread for general classic rock discussion.
im 15 and that what i listen to
I got Lynyrd Skynyrd Lyve, the 30th Anniversary one..it's pretty good although it's almost a totally different band. They play all of the old classics..way better than I expected. It was used for $10, not bad for a live two-disc.
I got the dvd version for christmas last year , really kool , but i like the old skynyrd better , the band today is just not the same.

thickasabrick 08-23-2005 07:59 PM

I'm not sure if it's the fact that I've drank two pots of tea today, or that bit of weed I stuck in there, but somethings a little off base.

NRPS - Panama Red is a cool song. I've listened to it like 5 times today, it's so annoyingly catchy.

I have heard that song so much when I was little, but I didn't know NRPS did it, it's on Old and In The Way's Breakdown, Which must have been left on repeat in our car during an 8 hour dirve or something, along with Jimmy Buffet, A Momentary Lapse of Reason (Pink Floyd), and some CD that's like "Thank God The Tiki Bar's Still Open". And John Prine. Bah

What did you guys have to listen to as small children?

My dad would play a lot of jazz, funk, soul, and R&B
Who?
A really annoying user who spammed this thread by posting "Another Brick in the Wall Pt. II" in seperate posts like.
We don't need no education

We don't need no thought control
I think everyone learned to ignore him, because eventually he stopped posting.

Edit: Jeez, I was jerk back then.

My dad always had either The Allmans or Steely Dan on in the car. I remember always liking ABB, but Steely Dan took me longer to get into.

My mom on the other hand usually has Jimmy Buffet or Toby Keith on :-/ She does like the Stones though and I think I heard 40 Licks about 12 times to and from the beach, along with Jimmy Buffet's greatest hits.

Hey Badmoon, remember that themightyquinn guy? I just found the page where he left.

He leaves because he said we talked too much about Neil Young and CSNY.

@*#&%!!!

The skynrd concert I was supposed to go to this Sunday was cancelled! Something to do with the singer! I'm not a big fan of them but it would have been fun to see them in concert...

Maybe next tour...

BassMasterMike88 08-24-2005 09:19 AM

^
I wouldn't bother, todays Skynrd is basicly its own tribute band. Isn't there only one original member still alive?

Glitterati 08-24-2005 09:19 AM

That thing about the Skynyrd concert sucks :(

w00t, 1,000 posts.
