it is physically impossible for me to stay in time for more than 4 or 5 measures at a time

my friend was telling me about this grad student at school that was playing drums with his ensemble

the guy was doing blast beats in 9/8, apparently there was a weird skip he would do in the middle

wish I was able to go an either sit in and listen or even play with them but nope, not good enough/not in music

jason im the same way, this is kinda like a diversion i guess. i mean most of the people are pretty cool but i dont use this as a substitute for social interaction

i mean when i'm playing with people i can stay in time perfectly but when it's just me playing drums without anything else i cannot for the fucking life of me stay in time. and i can't find headphones that will go loud enough for me to hear a metronome while i'm playing. super frustrated.
