only good interpretation on youtube? almost
I think the best ones are ****ing Hostile and 5 Minutes Alone WITH SAVALON! |
If by best metalcore band you mean most overrated deathcore band, with the most boring live show ever, I definitely agree.
I do like ...And Life Is Very Long and 3750 though.
Too bad that's not what I mean then. Awesome band and not deathcore. |
 whatever you say...
|
the acacia strain sucks horribly
|
Their first 2 cds are cool.
|
 whatever you say...
Not whatever, that ^^ I gotta say I dont listen to metalcore much though, so they're not my favorite band ever or anything :p |
and they're not metalcore...
|
do explain please.
|
They don't have very many hardcore parts and mostly play slam death.
|
they play metalcore (downtuned guitars, breakdowns - not defining the genre...) with some death elements maybe, but they are still not deathcore.
shall we ask wikipedia? :p |
I saw Cradle Of Filth listed as "vampyric" metal on wikipedia.
|
Just mentions them being labeled that at one point, by somebody else. That doesn't mean that whatever the main genre they are put under is wrong. They say Cradle of Filth is extreme metal, black metal, gothic.. which is wrong then?
It says The Acacia Strain is metalcore. I see no problem here. |
Saying their first album is might work, but that's a stretch.
|
Alright, how about you just say what makes them deathcore? Specific things about their music.
|
The fact that their music on every album other than And Life Is Very Long is mostly slam death?
|
slam death = deathcore?
But no, not really. |
However the fact that it's mostly slam death, and partly hardcore would make it deathcore.
|
They are not slam death, look up other bands in that genre, not the same sound. Maybe some similarities, but that's all. I will say again, untraditional metalcore with a few death elements, but still metalcore.
|
They're not pure slam death because they're deathcore, wow. You sir seriously are dense.
|
they sound like ****ing bury your dead
|
I got that :p But when you say they are mostly slam death it would mean a very similar sound to the pure slam death bands, which they don't have. A higher pitch on the guitar, more solos, different vocals than what they got.
|
Not really...
|
Not really...
Yes.
they sound like ****ing bury your dead
Yea, but a bit heavier. Bury your dead are considered hardcore/metalcore, so add some death to that and you got the acacia strain and some heavy metalcore. |
 that's what deathcore is...
And they really only sound like Bury Your Dead in that they both overuse breakdowns, the parts that aren't breakdowns don't sound the same. |
metalcore + death metal, sure. not more hardcore + some death elements, which is kinda what I meant.
time for bed. 3am. |
You need to get yourself some Das Oath ASAP if you think that's what hardcore is.
|
I didnt say they were hardcore.. but more hardcore than metalcore. eh whatever you wanna call them, the acacia strain are a heavy version of them. metalcore with death elements. I'm done.
|
So, The Opposite Of December and We Are The Romans have been constantly playing on and off lately.
How is American Nervoso?
Wow, I didn't think anyone listened to We Are The Romans here. I know the lead singer, Mo. He works at the rehearsal studio that I practice at. Really chill guy, doesn't look like he'd be a vocalist for a metal band at all. |
Botch is pretty huge in the online metalcore community.
|
I know this is a metalcore topic, douche.
 that's what deathcore is...
And they really only sound like Bury Your Dead in that they both overuse breakdowns, the parts that aren't breakdowns don't sound the same.
The Acacia Strain isn't really metalcore they sound more hardcore then anything ,but they are considered metalcore. |
Yeah bro, The Acacia Strain is much more similar to bands like Outbreak and xLetdownx than they are to bands like Animosity and Knights Of The Abyss... I mean, they do have a lot more breakdowns, and that's what hardcore is about, right?!
|

I've been looking for Converge-Jane Doe everywhere, but I every time I go to get it, the store has every album by them but Jane Doe.
And according to how phenomenal everyone says it is, I have no plans of pirating it. |
My friend got it at a small record store for like $5.99.
|
