I wanted to rep you for that, but I can't. :upset:

So take my imaginary rep and my sincerest lol.
It's okay. :)

Yeah, that's my favorite movie of all time.

PaulSimonon 10-11-2006 09:47 PM

So my mom has made muffins but I don't know how to get out there without people noticing my inebriation and the general smell of tequila on my breath...

Spaceman Spiff 10-11-2006 09:47 PM
I watch a rediculous amount of movies. I mostly stay within a few genre's, but i really do enjoy a good movie. I do recomend The Departed is was the best movie i have seen all year.

I haven't seen that many, but the best movie of the year for me is Lucky Number Slevin... actually, tied with that, from another genre, is Clerks 2. I loved that movie.

thelowsoundofbass 10-11-2006 09:47 PM

Best movie I have seen this year would be garden state. But I have reading to do, so I am out

Those were both really good movies. I've never laughed so hard in my life as I did when I saw Clerks 2. When does that come out on DVD? I want to add it to my amazingly huge (read: I own 3) DVD collection.
Those were both really good movies. I've never laughed so hard in my life as I did when I saw Clerks 2.
I saw it on opening night. :D

The whole theater was constantly laughing, which seems pretty rare. I can't remember that happening at any other movies I've been to, where more than a couple minutes couldn't go by without everyone breaking out laughing.

PaulSimonon 10-11-2006 09:54 PM

Score! Totally got some Nutty Bars.

BenJammin 10-11-2006 09:56 PM

Why are you drinking tequila, Andrew?

I haven't seen both of those movies, well i saw the first 15 minutes of lucky number slevin and all my friends went and saw clerks 2 without me and i didnt want to go to a movie theater alone.

When is it?

So stupid question, there's not a 6/7 or 7/6 time sig, right?

Rollo47 10-12-2006 12:15 AM

6/7, no. A 7th note would be incredibly hard to time. 7/6, I suppose it's possible. You'd have 7 dotted quavers in a bar, which again, would be darn hard to time.

The Brad 10-12-2006 12:18 AM

Yeah it sounded ridiculous, I am just trying to figure out why the syllables are 6 and 7.
I think it's because six is 3 and seven is 4, since it's based on a waltz.

the 16th. it's at the Che.

The Brad 10-12-2006 12:21 AM

Yeah I am not driving you, I have a midterm due the next day. I'll probably be cramming.

The Brad 10-12-2006 12:25 AM

I am analyzing a poem and it's entitled "My Papa's waltz" and each line is either six or seven syllables.
And since you "round up even numbers" I figure 7 could be 8 and then you divide each by 2 and get 3/4

Lunacy?

ebe9 10-12-2006 12:28 AM

Morning all.

Pointless fact Number 317:

It is possible to "stain" your hands with wenge.

hahahaha no worries.
I'LL JUST STEAL YOUR CAR.

The Brad 10-12-2006 12:29 AM

But... it's the reason I rise in the morning. :(

Sounds more intentional than anything else.

The Brad 10-12-2006 12:32 AM

That's what I am going to try and argue.
That's what I am going to try and argue.
I mean look at the title of the poem.

Surely the poet though it would be a clever idea to do work that in, unless of course whe wrote it then picked up/deliberatly did that rhyme structure then titled it.

Argue it, you would get my backing.

Plus. poetry is always open to individual interpretation.

Jody LeCompte 10-12-2006 12:37 AM

Anyway, I had to go play pokemon.

I wondered into the ol' jazz club for the first time in a few weeks and the bassist had disappeared so Inded up playing texas flood, the sky is crying, everyday I have the blues, flip, flop, and fly, and stormy monday.

Sweet.

IPolkaLikeThis! 10-12-2006 12:39 AM

I wish I could play jazz....

it sounds so sweet, but all I can do is play Iron Maiden with a pick.

The Brad 10-12-2006 12:40 AM

Well his dad was German, it has waltz in the title, I think he is pushing it.
I can't read it to the beat, but I know I have something with it.

Jody LeCompte 10-12-2006 12:41 AM

Gigging jazz on an 80's fretless fender > Iron maiden

You interpretation of the subject matter.

Provided you provide a decent amount of information and examples to back up your claim, the lecturer cannot fault you for your interpretation.

IPolkaLikeThis! 10-12-2006 12:44 AM

true...

/me is lame.

The Brad 10-12-2006 12:46 AM

No need to tell blatant lies Jody.
...It's okay Eddie, he didn't really mean it.

Yeah, I was the only one doing research for the longest time and now other people are picking up on it... so hopefully it will take the class in a better direction.

As long as I am the first to utter them, they are mine.

Jody LeCompte 10-12-2006 12:49 AM

I actually enjoy playing blues and jazz live more than rock or metal.

Theres not as much moshing and what not but I think theres more energy.

You forgot the sinister evil laugh

IPolkaLikeThis! 10-12-2006 12:50 AM

let me play metal by rooting with a pick, and you play your dumb old jazz with your crazy lame scales and modes...

I do love me some blues though. for me, walking blues is kinda easy...
