Stalker.

Or wants to be cool and go out wearing the exact same clothes as one of them.

Who knows?

Bad Blood 12-05-2005 12:20 PM

Travis Barker has been in an interview.

With courtesy of Letterbomb(;)), he supposedly said:

"after we make music we have never made and a couple of tours we will return to what means most, blink"

So, it all looks positive for Blink coming back. :D

Agreed :thumb:. I know Mark and Tom have been speaking due to thier recent "Unite the United" charity work where they both donated a signed Guitar and Bass. And now this Mark Hoppus interview in Travis's DC Shoes Party, and lets face it Samstripe (The poster on blink182.com) wouldnt have made it up because he would get caught easily. I could go on, so for the main part BLINK 182 ARE RETURNING!
I NEED THAT INTERVIEW
Meh, i wouldnt believe that interview Samstripe saw it on a forum and he didnt particuarly believe it. It was also supposed to have been in a British magazine and i dont think Travis has been recently interviewed in Britain has he?
I think ive missed something, where is the Mark interview in Travis's DC Shoes Party??
Samstripe couldnt find the interview he saw in a fan site. However mark was a guest at the party, http://www.celebrityphoto.com/scripts/search/event-search.pl?keyword=Travis%20DC%20Shoes%20111405&search_type=keyword
Mark and his wife are at the bottom of the page. They called him "Mark Poppus of Blink 182"

plaidbassbilly 12-06-2005 01:59 AM

Poppus?

Surtr 12-06-2005 05:38 AM
Poppus?
 Maybe thats his real name..And since they thought it was a terrible last name he had it changed? :p

plaidbassbilly 12-06-2005 06:26 AM

First I thought it said "Poopus", which made me laugh, then I realised it was "Poppus" which was slightly funnier!

yourstruly 12-08-2005 08:02 PM

What do you think would of happened with Blink if they kept Scott as there drummer?

B 12-08-2005 08:30 PM

They would have stayed more "oldschool" pop-punkish. Maybe not that much because Tom had a lot of influence in their change of sound, but I still think Scott would have kept their original sound a little more.

why-was-i-banned 12-09-2005 12:41 AM

There is a article in this months blunt about blink if you live in aus, go buy it.

plaidbassbilly 12-09-2005 02:48 AM

Yay I will. It comes with a CD and badges too, pretty cool.

After Travis joined there songs varied a bit more.

Same-ish, but awesome :) Saying that, I still prefer the Dude Ranch-Enema-Take Off threesome that defined blink82 to anything else they have written (Self titled, and Buddha and all before).

As for the supposed re-uniting of blink... sounds good. I wouldn't say I was jumping around with excitement, but they put on a good show :D

How long have you been playing bass for?

poprocks&coke 12-09-2005 04:38 AM

About a year.

I kinda suck.

How long did it take you? I'm not exactly a good bassist, but that's a real easy song. Just read the notes pretty much.

Bad Blood 12-09-2005 01:19 PM

I don't really see why everyone like Carousel so much.

Ok, it's a good song, but it's not amazinngly brilliant is it?

I like it because of the drums, i dont know why but i agree it is not an amazing song, although the MTTS version kicked ***

Bad Blood 12-09-2005 01:38 PM

Yeah, that's very true.

It's the best version of it imo.

16 Nipples 12-09-2005 01:38 PM

Yeah both album versions werent that good, but the MTATS was class

About 20 mins to perfect it. It is pretty easy. I've done harder stuff. I'm not a master at bass or anything, though.

The guitar parts in it are pretty cool, even if they're not extremely hard. Bass line at the start is fun to play aswell.

What happened, you get banned?

Today in class, me and my friend were talking about bands, and we got onto blink. We started talking about how easy the songs were to play, and we were singing a bit of What's My Age Again?

:( Indeed I did. Me and my friend might be recording the guitar parts to Stay Together For The Kids at his place tomorrow..depending on whether or not it works out I might upload it for you guys to hear. We did some pretty cool stuff to the already awesome bridge. Once we get the guitar sorted out I'm gonna come back to my place and do the drumming. :thumb:

It's a lot harder than that for more advanced songs. You have to work on speed, finger placement, how hard you hold down the string, And for bassists especially you have to exercise your pinky, Some of the thick strings get hard to hold down. And if theres any popping or slapping at all you have to change your hand to a new position in relatively no time.

For most songs that aren't at a beginner level, it is much more than just reading the notes. 20-30 minutes is probably all it should take for a song at a beginner/intermediate level like carousel.

Hey, Four days left until a AVA song!

It's 3 here..lol. And yeah it does take a bit more effort than just looking at the notes, but I think he was saying that was the main part to it, or at least something that if you took away you wouldn't be able to play the song. :thumb:

Haha, I enjoy some of the humor from MTTS. At times all of it seems extremely immature, but if I'm in the mood for a good laugh or something I'll listen to it.

Mute Print 12-09-2005 10:32 PM

There's no question it's immature, but that was one of the things that made blink-182 so great. :p

! What do you mean WAS they still are great! And always will be, until they start to suck. When that time arrives I'll destroy all trace that I ever even knew who Blink 182 was.
