i decided to listen to fortress again, eh, the vocals prevent me from gettin into this album/band, i think some of the riffs are pretty cool though
I thought the vocals were kinda whiny when I first listened to these guys, but now he is one of my favorite singers. Give him a few more listens.

alytee123 11-22-2009 01:05 PM

I was exactly the same at first, but now I'm really fond of the vocals.

FigNewtns 11-22-2009 01:43 PM

Sunflower Avenue is so upbeat. can't get over how catchy that intro is.

yea, thats what i thought about it, but i'll give it a couple more listens, still think i'm going to try to get the instrumental album though, i imagine that if the vocals don't grow on me i'll still enjoy the instrumental

stop talking about syncope threshold

Tyler 11-23-2009 04:39 PM

They haven't made it to the studio yet for this new album. Still writing/rehearsing.

masscows 11-23-2009 04:41 PM

any hints as to what it sounds like yet?

beans 11-23-2009 04:45 PM

proabably a lot of awesome

Tyler 11-23-2009 09:06 PM

Started following them in the Spring of 2003, and they used to play pretty much weekly (sometimes a few times a week) so I saw them often. Eventually became casually acquainted with some of the dudes in the band.

gocsa666 12-04-2009 05:43 PM

So... have they played Bone Marrow live yet?:) Somebody should definitely record that celebratory event.

Yordy 12-05-2009 08:26 PM

Word on the street is, they're playing it on this short tour before they go to the studio. Tim says it will probably be the first and last time they play it live.

shortz 12-05-2009 10:12 PM

Someone needs to record that **** and post it on youtube. I'd love to see Bone Marrow live.

FigNewtns 12-05-2009 10:27 PM

what's the deal?

Tyler 12-06-2009 08:09 AM

Anglachel 12-06-2009 08:02 PM

Anglachel 12-06-2009 08:08 PM

everytime i see it i facepalm

i mean its a great album and all but like
why

FigNewtns 12-06-2009 08:50 PM

what's the deal w/ them not playing Bone Marrow? did somebody die during recording it or sumthin?

Tyler 12-06-2009 09:03 PM

the song is pretty reliant on the keyboard stuff and it's kinda hard for timmy to play that while he's playing guitar

that's how i see it at least

FigNewtns 12-06-2009 09:10 PM

ah, gotcha. i guess i'm not up to date with PtH lore.

Benzilla 12-06-2009 09:58 PM

Rody needs to step it up, learn keyboard, and pull a Tommy Rogers.

Apoc 12-06-2009 10:52 PM

agreed

I saw that vid of them playing Limb From Limb, and when the synth solo part came Rody was like "there's a keyboard solo here... and we don't have a keyboard player .." so they just played the backing parts and it was embarrassing lol

Ventriloquist 12-07-2009 08:58 AM

I'm seeing them tomorrow support Propagandhi, gonna be an awesome show. I really hope that they will play Bone Marrow.

Tyler 12-07-2009 09:35 AM

I know they're playing it on their Canadian dates next week but IDK about the UK tour. You might be the test subjects.

In his defense, that was a Dragonforce keyboard solo. Who knows if it was sped up on the album.

Apoc 12-07-2009 03:10 PM

haha true

it was probably played at 10bpm and they studio magick'd it up to 300

alytee123 12-07-2009 08:30 PM

I saw them play it live in London and the Dragonforce keyboardist ran on stage, played the solo, and buggered off. True story.

Tyler 12-07-2009 08:32 PM

That's basically how it came about, too. Apparently he really wanted to do something on the album and they figured that would be the best spot. Tim said he had a finished solo back to them in, like, an hour.

Oh and guitarists who like PTH there's gonna be a little something coming your way in the next couple of months.

Apoc 12-07-2009 08:36 PM

curiosity piqued
