I was going to get the limited edition of ROME's new album, but its like, $50 with shipping :/

I usually only buy a CD a month so I would probably pay that for an artist i'm really into.

This does rule btw, i've listened to it 3 or 4 times now. The vocalist reminds me more of Nick Cave than I was expecting.

You'd probably not like it then. It's a lot better than Ire Works, which sucked, but it's a lot more like Miss Machine or Irony is a Dead Scene than Calculating Infinity. There's still a lot of spazzy **** on it but it's full of huge hooks and **** like that.

Check it out when it comes out or leaks but I wouldn't expect you to be hugely fond of it.

Word I liked Irony so I have a chance of liking it. Really I mostly hate them now because of their singer who is unignorably (yay made up a word) annoying and the direction he's taken the band in (like you said the gay hooks)

The hooks are really good this time around though, unlike Ire Works. Puciato's gotten a lot better too, he's still a little too nasally but his harsh vocals have gotten good. Their new drummer is pretty good too and there are some parts that are way more out there than Irony or Miss Machine technically speaking but they still usually have hooky bridges or whatnot. Plus there's a jazz pianist who kinda takes over a lot of the last few songs.

There are a few you'd probably dig though. "Farewell Mona Lisa" is a lot like an Irony b-side and Endless Endings is ridiculously intense, the first minute is just chaos but it does get catchier as it goes on.

You'd probably dig a lot of the parts on this album but maybe not many songs from front to back.
