It's hot and windy here.

Stickman Sam 10-26-2006 12:25 PM

It's rather chilly and very wet here...

Still, only about 6 months of this, then it'll only be cold and damp MOST of the time for a while :)

Back to the drums, I need to work on some interesting phrasing ideas in straight feel. If anyones got any ideas to throw my way, all welcome.

trysthedrummer 10-26-2006 12:26 PM

I guess I missed all the bannings and whatnot. I knew Phil would get one after last night.

Josiah 10-26-2006 12:27 PM

Play with imposed groupings.

IE: in straight 16ths accent every 5th note, or 3rd and 5th.

Or even better, I made a thread - http://www.sputnikmusic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=492586

enjoy!

Yeah, hahahahahahaha. Finally, justice was served to that postwh0ring troll.

Cats suck anyway. They're just too wimpy. My dogs would tear up all those cats easily. There would be carcasses all over the yard. hahahahaha stupid cats..

Stickman Sam 10-26-2006 01:13 PM

Bannings? I don't keep up with this forum enough...

Thanks Jos, led me down a nice little path of experimentation there.

Win A Rabbit 10-26-2006 01:24 PM

Cats are cool. Well the ones who come to you are cool. My aunt's had the same cat for 6 years, and I thought it was dead until the last time I went over there, because I hadn't seen it in atleast 4 years. We go over there for supper atleast 10 times a year, so that's about 40 times I went over there without seeing the cat.

Josiah 10-26-2006 01:26 PM

No prob sam

What'd you think? Ignore the intro, thats lame, and will be re-written when i can think of acoustic guitar parts. Also, the reason it doesn't flow smoothly is intended.

raz0r 10-26-2006 01:54 PM

:(

I just found out that Benny Greb was doing a clinic here on sunday (as in 4 days ago)

Not cool.

LoneStarDrummer 10-26-2006 01:58 PM

that was not too bad. the intro wasn't too bad either.

maniac0796 10-26-2006 02:00 PM

cheers

I'm kinda trying to experiment with different time sigs, but with a variety of instruments instead of just drums.

I'm gonna try a 9/8 guitar solo next

You got rid of the F in the bass lines, Cool. I was wondering what your original direction was gonna be.

That version is ALOT better in my opinion. Better note selection, phrasing etc. Keep practicing.

maniac0796 10-26-2006 02:05 PM

Cheers futuro. My bassist told me a few notes were out of key. I must be going blind because i have the e minor fret board up.

Im disapointed with my Balbex drumsticks. I just broke a pair of them today during band prac. Luckily both of them cracked in half during the last song! The pair only lasted me 5 weeks. Nothing can beat pro-marks, I got 3 pairs of promark 5B's lasti christmas and they lasted me so long that 5 weeks ago I bought two pairs of Balbex sticks..of course now I only have one pair left. AND I still have one Pro-mark 5B left that i use as a backup stick. Crazy shizz

Yeah that F wasn't in Em. But only using 7 notes can lead to really boring music, so I reccomend learning the Modes on a guitar/piano, then learning how to phrase what would be considered "wrong notes" into the music.

Time 10-26-2006 02:21 PM

YAY its my birthday

sexual_harassment_panda 10-26-2006 02:24 PM

how old are you now?

Janeway 10-26-2006 02:33 PM

My head hurts.

Edit: Bad.

Sunshine 10-26-2006 02:35 PM

I spent all day thinking today was Friday, except I still knew I had school tomorrow and that tomorrow was Friday.

I hate that.

maniac0796 10-26-2006 02:41 PM

Does anyone know if the film Sin City is any good? And is it in colour, cos all the screenshots i'm seeing look like they're in black and white.

Win A Rabbit 10-26-2006 02:42 PM

I just painted a Neutral Milk Hotel shirt, and then after it dried, realized I did a horrible job on it.

Now I have to go over it again, but I'm contemplating how to go about doing that.

I wasn't a fan of Sin City, but all my friends seemed to like it. The only colours they show are red and yellow, I think.

maniac0796 10-26-2006 02:55 PM

Lame, and it's an 18, so i won't be able to buy it.

Anyone else know of any cool action films i could buy?

Bonham#1! 10-26-2006 02:57 PM

I think there may have been green to.

Janeway 10-26-2006 02:57 PM

Full Metal Jacket

I'm out of fruit punch.

maniac0796 10-26-2006 02:59 PM

gay, thats also an 18

Why are all good films 18's! damn my young age

Bonham#1! 10-26-2006 03:10 PM

Get your parents to buy it.

Janeway 10-26-2006 03:14 PM

Why can't you buy it? I've never been checked for my age anywhere other than Wal-Mart.

Win A Rabbit 10-26-2006 03:16 PM

Stores around here don't care about age. The only time there was an age thing was after GTA got a bunch of heat, the guy asked my friend (clearly under 18) for id and he said he left it at home. The guy let him buy it anyways.

maniac0796 10-26-2006 03:17 PM

Because i'm like, only 15.

Also, if i get my parents to buy it, it means ordering online and waiting and paying for delivery, whereas i can just go and get what i want on saturday. I might just buy an evans powercenter thing and "a twist in the myth" by blind guardian and that'll be it. I need to pay my mum for my bike still

Bonham#1! 10-26-2006 03:47 PM

I dont see why getting your parents to buy it, means you need to order online

sexual_harassment_panda 10-26-2006 03:49 PM

Here in finland they don't really give a **** for the age that movies are rated. They wont sell Pornno for minors tho.

Janeway 10-26-2006 03:50 PM

Well, Finland is also the happiest nation on Earth.

I can't decide what kind of sub to get. The last two times I've had a rib one. It's basically the McRib, but a foot long.
Does anyone actually buy pron anyway?
I used to play ice-hockey and on every time we had a game outside of town when we were coming back home I would by a pronmagazine, candy and 0.5l of coke or something. I just read the storys the readesr submit. They were so stupid, I always laughed my asss off

Why is that a shame? If my dad bought me a sweet cymbal I'd be incredibly happy.

LoneStarDrummer 10-26-2006 04:34 PM
