Maggot Dream 06-13-2006 02:01 AM

That song would make me ashamed to be Romanian.

I'd find it hilarious to hear that "Gary" was found dead in a bathroom.

Sunshine 06-13-2006 02:05 AM

Apparently the Romanians are pretty proud of it.

I mean, how often do Romanian bands make it huge in the States?

--

...it's almost 1 AM, and nobody's on or anything, so I think I'm going to like. Go. To bed or something. G'night now.

Maggot Dream 06-13-2006 02:07 AM

I'd agree with you, but I don't think many people went out and bought their album because of it, or even knew it was O-Zone.

If their fame comes from a fat guy dancing in front of a webcam, I pity them.

Jezen 06-13-2006 02:09 AM

^^^
I saw the parodies before the original..

Maggot Dream 06-13-2006 02:10 AM

Yeah, I think pretty much everyone did.

Well, I gotta get to bed, I've been getting an average of 3 hours of sleep per day for the last 6 days, due to Wakarusa. Totally worth it though. Goodnight.

maniac0796 06-13-2006 02:41 AM

Not to bring the argument back up, but just saying. Would doing say, triplets in 3/4 on the feet whilst doing a snare roll in 4/4 on the hands count? I wasn't sure on thattun. I know the triplets can be done in 4/4 though, which renders having mulitple time signatures obsolete, but could that idea work?

TojesDolan 06-13-2006 03:16 AM

Yeah so... not trying to bring up the subject again, but here's a little explanation I tried to do and I suppose it's correct, but then again I might be talking things I'm not aware of:

FFS If you guys can't end this already, I WILL!

Atman, and anybody else who thinks that playing in multiple time signiatures is possible: It is not possible. You are getting time signiatures mixed with groupings.

The most obvious example is straight from Marco Minneman's 'Extreme Drumming'.

In the first example, Marco solos in what appears to be contrasting time signiatures on different limbs. Sure, each limb plays a different time signiature, but you can't notate these at the same time. A sheet of music can NOT have different sigs playing at the same time.

Anyway, Marco plays a 7 note ostinato with his feet:

7/16
BD|o-o-o--|
HF|-x-x-xx|

On top of this, he plays a 5 note ostinato with one hand:

5/16
H1|x-x--|

And a 9 note ostinato with the other:

9/16
H2|x-x-x-x--|

Lovely. So we have established that individually, these patterns are in different time sigs. But when you put them together, you have to fuse them all into one time sig. But which signiature shall we put them into? The answer is, IT DOESN'T MATTER! Just for examples sake, we put them in 4/4. Everything else is odd, so we may aswell use something common...

4/4

SN|o-o--o-o--o-o--o|-o--o-o--o-o--o-|o--o-o--o-o--o-o|
BD|o-o-o--o-o-o--o-|o-o--o-o-o--o-o-|o--o-o-o--o-o-o-|
HF|-x-x-xx-x-x-xx-x|-x-xx-x-x-xx-x-x|-xx-x-x-xx-x-x-x|

Ming-a-Ling 06-13-2006 07:45 AM

God damn...So I left my place about an hour ago for work. I made it about 2 miles down the road to find out the road I need to take to get to work is compeltely closed because of a wreck. Traffic is so freaking bad in the only other direction I can go it took me 45 minutes to drive 2 miles. I said **** it and came home.

Drum Phil 06-13-2006 07:47 AM

Well i think you should listen to the hitchers to make up for it.

Chat up a stuardess.

styler 06-13-2006 10:44 AM

obviously going to.

Janeway 06-13-2006 01:29 PM

I'm home.

=/
Isn't this supposed to be the biggest event of my life?
It just feels like a Friday.

Someone threw a dead pig out of a window on the third story onto the hood of the superintendant's Mercedes. =3

Ming-a-Ling 06-13-2006 01:39 PM

What? You didn't break into song and dance upon finishing the school day? How lame.

Just kiddin'. Nah, finishing high school isn't that big of a deal. I've only been out like 6 years, and it seems really really insignificant when I look back on it.

Congrats on making it through though, it's definetly something that's nice to get out of your way.

Janeway 06-13-2006 01:43 PM

Oh my god. You didn't have a 'oh noes u failed maths imsogoodraraara' comment!
Very good!

Ming-a-Ling 06-13-2006 01:44 PM

I figured since this really is as probably good as it's going to get for you, I'll give you your moment.

Janeway 06-13-2006 01:49 PM

Stfu, art school boy.

jalel 06-13-2006 01:51 PM

^any plans for the future Cube?

Janeway 06-13-2006 01:57 PM

Not go to a crappy art institute and waste my life away at a dead end animation job, that's for sure.

Nah.
I'm going to NCCC for the craptastic humanities and social science degree program, and then I'm going to transfer to Fredonia or Buffstate for either something to do with english or music.
I'm still undecided.
