Dan Deacon- Spiderman Of The Rings

didn't really dig this too much when it first came out but I've been really into it lately, especially ever since I looked more into how he makes his music

Time 01-10-2009 03:22 PM

i will be so happy if i get to see him this year, he was so sick at the Hirshhorn but I missed Round Robin.

cbmartinez 01-10-2009 03:28 PM

i really should have ****ing gone to that hirschorn performance, heard it was sick, i think i had a VIP ticket for the byt thing too idk, stupid of me

cbmartinez 01-10-2009 03:32 PM

are the dirty projectors worth checking out

perriwinkle 01-10-2009 04:08 PM

i dont like them at all

cbmartinez 01-10-2009 05:17 PM

word, last.fm reccomended them based on my listening of ariel pink and animal collective but good to know

also listening to liars' self-titled, the first track threw me off a bit but goddamn, this album is sweet. i also got they were wrong... but havent listened but between this album and drum's not dead, they are climbing on my favorites list

Correction 01-10-2009 05:43 PM

diggin stuff toby driver-related

catharsis 01-10-2009 07:45 PM

Dirty Projectors are great if you're into the "new weird america" business. Kind of a stupid and broad genre, if you ask me, but most of the bands tagged to it on last.fm are terrific.

YourBiggestFan 01-10-2009 11:44 PM

Ahah, I totally know what you mean about the "new weird america" thing on last.fm. Genres!!!

catharsis 01-10-2009 11:52 PM

John Frusciante - Curtains

I've put off listening to his stuff for a long time because I've always been hesitant due to my dislike for RHCP...this is great stuff though. Started listening just in time for his next release, too.

thats pretty sweet though that theyre releasing it, i found my way to a blog called ill-formed today after realizing i always download stuff on sordo from there and they seem like they have some cool ****, downloaded some random things a psychic ills album they seem interesting
There's a record on that blog by Teenage Panzerkorps, get that. They sound a bit like Joy Division/The Fall and have GREAT melodies!
Lick My Decals Off Baby

My favourite Beefheart so far tbh.
Yeah that record is amazing. My two favourite Beefheart records are Doc at the Radar Station and Ice Cream For Crow. You'd love them.
