Good ol' Benson.
Always trying to sneak into the competitions. |
Whahey, how'd I mess that up?
Looking back, I don't really remember what I was thinking... just add them both :\ |
Whahey, how'd I mess that up?
Looking back, I don't really remember what I was thinking... just add them both :\
Okay I'll do it, but only because Anderson needs more votes! http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showpost.php?p=10164401&postcount=32 Placeholder. |
Oh man, I'm only done with the first page of nominations and I already have 186 nominees! That means the list has almost doubled from my original 100 nominations, all because people are naming the most obscure and largely untalented death/black metal and metalcore guys they can think of! Ugh, they probably all sound the same too.
Lars Nedland + Cornelius Von Jakhelln Brastad > Chris Cornell |
There are some pretty distinct voices in Death/Black Metal, but yes, a ton of them sound the same... I wish I didn't forget Jason from The Number 12 Looks Like You, that man can scream quite high.
|
Lars Nedland + Cornelius Von Jakhelln Brastad > Chris Cornell
Yes, two people are more than one person. One more, to be exact. |
Lars Nedland or Cornelius Von Jakhelln Brastad > Chris Cornell
fixed for the slow |
So, we have journals now.
Exciting. |
Page two done. Ugh, this is gonna be a long one.
Tell me, how does a user such as PinkFreud rattle off some two dozen classic rock singers and FORGET JOHN FOGERTY?! He's not getting as many votes as he should :( Baaaaawn on a bayou Page three done. |

/me waits for people to disagree and insult my taste in music :( /me encourages other R&Mers to make lists |
They're down already... :(
I wish they'd have lasted at least like, a day. |
They're down already... :(
I wish they'd have lasted at least like, a day.
Jeremy might bring em back, but...meh. Jom: I only watched the first minute, which was about white supremacy groups...so I'd say that's pretty retarded...but I probably missed the important parts...I'm lazy though :-\ |

Jom: I only watched the first minute, which was about white supremacy groups...so I'd say that's pretty retarded...but I probably missed the important parts...I'm lazy though :-\
It gets... rather extreme in the middle. At any rate, I took it to PW&WI. |
There is quite a few unoticed talents in the extreme/obscure metal world when it comes to vocals due to the unpopularity of the music in general. Garm Vortex Vintersorg Valfar Vladimir Lumi Ihsahn Paul Kuhr Cornelius Von Jakhelln Brastad Lars Nedland Mikeal Stanne Jari Mäenpää etc etc So meh. NP - Finntroll - Fodosagan |
Ugh page four done. So many names. The bassists nominations weren't this diverse when they ended, and I'm not even halfway through the vocalist list yet!
So many names. |
You're doing a good job, YD. It'll be worth it in the end - don't be afraid to take a break or two.
|
Well I don't really have a choice but to take a break. I gotta go to sleep you know! I'll pick up on page 5 tomorrow, and hopefully Jon Anderson gets more votes. Seriously, how can you not just add a nomination for the man who sang "I'll be your roundabout?"
|
/me adds Jon Anderson nomination <_<

Heh. My week is looking up. I was over at a friend's dorm this evening and got to test out a bunch of tricks for his friends. Their favorite was one where I shuffle up the deck and have them pick a card at random. I never see the card. They then right it down on a sheet of paper (again, I don't see it), and fold it up. Then, I burn it.
I take the ashes and rub them into my arm, and before their eyes, the name of their card appears on my skin in the ash. Got a hell of a reaction from them. I need to nail just a few more tricks and I'm going to start doing stuff like this around town for tips. |
In other news, an acquaintance told me that Drowning Pool got rid of that second singer guy and are trying to find a third singer guy. I'm sure you're all thrilled.
But I also received another solicitor spam mail from a fine fusty African gentleman walrus today:
Dear Friend, I am Barrister Allen Bill, a Solicitor. I am the Personal Attorney to Mr. Steve Mcdonalds who used to work with Chevron Oil Development Company in Nigeria. On the 21st of April 2003, his wife and their three children were involved in a car accident along Abuja Express Road.Unfortunately, they all lost their lives in the event of the accident. Since then I have made several enquiries to your Embassy to locate any of my clients relatives, this has also proved unsuccessful. After these several unsuccessful attempts, I decided to trace his relatives over the Internet to locate any member of his family but to no avail, Hence, I contacted you to assist in repatriating the money left behind by my client in a Security Company. Particularly, the Security Company where the deceased deposited the US$30 Million (Tharty Million United States Dol! lars only). Consequently, this Security Company issued me a notice to provide the Next of Kin to claim the US$30 Million (Tharty Million United States Dollars only) in their custody within the next ten official working days. Since I have been unsuccessful in locating the relatives for over 2 years now, I seek your consent to present you as the next of kin of the deceased to claim the fund as the Next of Kin to him so that the Security Company will transfer the fund to youraccount. Upon receipt of the fund, I will come over to your country to meet with you for the disbursement of the fund and then you and I will share the money in this order: 55% will be for me, 40% will be for you, while 5% will be used on expenses incurred. I have all the necessary legal documents that can back our claim we may make with the Security Company. All I require is your honest co-operation to enable us see this deal through. I guarantee that this will be executed under! a legitimate arrangement that will protect you from any breach of the law. Please, get in touch with me by my secured and confidential email address at: (link to e-mail) to enable me clarify you further. Best regards. I love email scams. It's not like they could ever make it a believable amount...they always say "Hey, I'm going to give you a few million dollars! For free!"
|
Hey YDload, if you give me a link I will help count the nominations for you, if you want?
Hey YDload, if you give me a link I will help count the nominations for you, if you want?
For your own sanity it is best that you do not. Plus there are little discrepancies that will make you hurt yourself in frustration, not to mention the sheer tedium of numbers  |
I have nothing to do for the next 2 hours, I'm sitting here finding myself hitting refresh every 5 minutes, it would do us both a favour :D
|
Why has the Frontman nominations thread been open so long? Seems a lot longer than usual..
But I also received another solicitor spam mail from a fine fusty African gentleman walrus today:
(Insert quote of ridiculous scam) What a fine fusty African gentleman walrus.
The scary thing is that these ridiculous scams wouldn't still be around if no one was falling for them. Which means that somewhere out there, some nimrod has dollar signs in his eyes and is eagerly replying.
My maths teacher could do that last year. It was awesome. He did a few other cool things as well but my mind has currently gone blank. I have no idea how he did them either.
That's the beauty of it. I like to add a little spice to my routines by adding extra mystique as I'm talking. I do the ashes trick with a monologue about voodoo, and it really creeped everyone out. |
That's the beauty of it.
Indeed it is. Although it means I have to look at a heap of dodgy websites if I ever want to learn anything. If I did know how to do something I doubt I'd tell anyone how though. |

Who cares? I got an Email like that last week too. I occasionally have a look if something has been caught by the spam filter. it's fun laughing at these wankers. |
