It's so hard to get into that school. Perfect for your average SAT 1450-range, 3.7 GPA, outstanding citizen, valedictorian, musical virturoso, captian of the basketball AND robotics teams hippies*

*I only meet one of these requirements

Finished Searchin' For the Sound in the car ride. I thought it was really really good. Or at least better than Aristotle's Politics

I've read quite a bit about it after it was in theaters and during when it was hyped hugely, and I was surprised to see how much credit Frank Miller was getting for directing, while Robert Rodriguez was most certainly the man behind the film. His editing, his camera work, etc. He even got kicked out of the Director's Guild for giving a little credit to Miller.

/sick of Tarantino and Miller takin' Rodriguez's credit
Last week we bought 34 grams because the exhibition was in town, me and my two friends finished it in a little over two days. It was such good weed, probably some of the best I've ever had. My friend bought a new glass bong the same day we bought the 34 g and that bong just gets you messed up.

I have a really big craving to listen to Strange Days and play guitar so I'm going downstairs...see you guys later.
Strange Days! That's one of the best albums for smoking, I think.

Too bad I don't do that...
I got some new vynils today
King Crimson- Discipline
Jethro Tull- Aqualung
Yes- Fragile
Weather Report- Heavy Weather
Allman Brothers- Idlewild South
Nice. I'm hesitant to admit I've never heard the band Weather Report. Could you tell me about them? Describe their sound, etc.

So earlier today I listened to Strange Days, as I mentioned...I accidently put the album on the second side to start off, which is like one of my major pet peeves. I hate not ending with When The Music's Over.

Well the only album ive heard is a very funky modern jazz type thing, that baisicly describes their sound

O yeah and their bass player is Jaco Pastorious.

Well jeez they must be good. I've heard a lot of Jacos playing and it is magnificant, never heard of that band though.

Earlier today I went to the library to take back/get some more books, and I decided to go through their DVD collection. They have a lot of cool DVDs! I got The Complete Montery Pop Festival Dvd Collection. It's got 3 disks and I'm excited to watch it. I haven't really seen a lot of the actual Montery Performances.

edit: BADMOON, someone in the guitar forums is trying to get into bluegrass guitar. He was asking for songs, tips, artists etc. I sent him to bluegrassguitar.com, I figured you might have something else helpful to add. Which is why I'm telling you this.
Harvest Moon and Down By the River aren't on ATGR.
I know, I was just saying those are some of my favorite songs by Neil.

Illmatic 08-16-2005 06:10 PM

Weather Report are kinda jazz-fusion/jazz-funk/whatever, and Jaco is their bassist.

EDIT: beat'd

Don't they play Yanni on the Weather Channel?
Don't they play Yanni on the Weather Channel?
Different local forcasts I suppose *shrug*

thickasabrick 08-16-2005 06:25 PM

I love the music that they play on the channel where they show everything that's on. You know that channel? Great music. I like to sleep to it. I wish they told what the songs/artists were because I wanna learn how to play a lot of those songs, and I'd probably buy some of the albums.

White_heat 08-16-2005 06:31 PM

I love music they play in the Cine Max pron films

I prefer the wah-wah-addled guitar of hardcore p0rn.

White_heat 08-16-2005 06:38 PM

Are you kidding? Soft core **** music has more SOUUUUUUUL

ATM 08-16-2005 06:39 PM

P0rn music is so great.

Illmatic 08-16-2005 06:39 PM
Are you kidding? Soft core **** music has more SOUUUUUUUL
It's fake, just like the action on-screen, my friend. In hardcore p0rn, the music is as raw and untamed as the action on-screen.

White_heat 08-16-2005 06:47 PM

It sounds too much like Miami Vice music to me.

I hear real songs on there sometimes, like "Something" and "The Sound Of Silence."

Yeah a couple times I've heard instrumental versions of recognizable songs.

Anyone here listen to the J. Geils band? I just heard Centerfold on the radio, that's one of the few songs of theirs I've heard but it's catchy as all hell. Not exactly the definition of classic rock, but I like them.

Johnny B. Good 08-16-2005 07:04 PM

Centerfold is a good song, very catchy, cool organ work, witty lyrics

I love that song, but probably couldn't name many more songs by them. Fun song.

Jacaranda 08-16-2005 07:21 PM

Freeze Frame isn't that by them? They sorta dissappeared quickly.

White_heat 08-16-2005 07:34 PM

Has any one here heard gong? They are a great space-rock band. Kind of like Pink Floyd and King crimson Mixed together with 10 doses of acid included.

I like space-rock, but I've never heard of Gong. King Crimson are good too.

White_heat 08-16-2005 07:41 PM

I can upload some.
