while cliff was a really good bass player.. i cant deny.. i think there is no actual BEST out there anywhere i think there is just a whole bunch of very skilled people and it all depends on your own opinion to determine the best in your eyes (or ears in this case)

Its kinda hard for them to out-do themsleves after about 11 albums of kick *** songs

okay, i didnt read all the 219 pages on here so this might of been discussed already but what do you all think Metallica would be like if Mustaine was still in?
why was he kicked out or whatever anyway? |
after Cliff went, it all went kinda downhill from there
after Cliff went, it all went kinda downhill from there
mater of puppets - about the holocaust (album cover and the phrase "i will occupy, i will help u die, i will run through u, now i rule u too" ride the lightning- innocent guy getting electric chair (Guilty as charged But **** it, it ain't right There is someone else controlling me Death in the air Strapped in the electric chair This can't be happening to me ) creeping death - moses and the plauges (Slaves Hebrews born to serve, to the pharaoh Heed To his every word, live in fear ...... Now Let my people go, land of goshen Go I will be with thee, bush of fire Blood Running red and strong, down the nil Plague Darkness three days long, hail to fire ....... Die by my hand I creep across the land Killing first born man Die by my hand I creep across the land Killing first born man....... Blood Lambs blood painted door, I shall pass) thats all i can think of |
Master of Puppets is about cocaine, and how it can control you. You're the 'puppet', and cocaine is your 'master'. Get it?
http://www.allmetallica.com/info/songinfo.php
The site has the meanings of every song. There are some crazy ones.... like Harvester of Sorrow being about a drug addict/alcoholic dad losing it and killing his family. It also says how The Thing That Should Not Be and For Whom the Bell Tolls were taken from books. Man, Metallica has some meaningful songs... |
"For Whom The Bell Tools" was writen by Ernest Hemmingway. "TTTSNB"...i have no idea.
"the thing that should not be" is the monster in the book "the call of Ctulu".
This thread has become meaningless!
People complain about those of us who criticize metallica, but we keep it interesting
SANDTRAP- your right this thread has become meaningless
how has it become meaningless?
Its not meaningless, LONG LIVE METALLICA, the BEST BAND IN THE WOORRRRRRRLLLD!
Its not meaningless, LONG LIVE METALLICA, the BEST BAND IN THE WOORRRRRRRLLLD!
amen brother amen |
Bump?
 |
Its meaningless because there is nothing left to say. How many times can you state your favorite album, song, or solo?
mater of puppets - about the holocaust (album cover and the phrase "i will occupy, i will help u die, i will run through u, now i rule u too"
If thats what you think then, 1. You are retarded 2. You cant read or interpret the extremely obvious lyrics. |
i have a quick question... who knows about what happened with the pyro during "fade to black" when james got burned? Because i have heard like 6 different stories
They changed the position of the pyro thingies, James stood in the wrong place at the wrong time and had his left hand burnt.
and about the song master of puppets its about drug (especially heroin) addiction and its consequences.
--------OR--------- If the song refers to the album's cover, the song could stand for how the government controls soldiers' lives and send them into death. Depending on the lyrics the cover artwork would better fit to "Disposable Heroes". The government: The hands with strings which are connected to -the white crosses on the ground. The hands are in the sky because -in the figurative sense the government stands above everything. -The government conrols - pulls the strings. The soldiers: Stand for the white crosses which are used for the burial of -deceased soldiers of war. At the cross on the left of the cover there is -an army helmet and at the cross in middle of the cover there is an army -identification tag hanging on. The high grown grass could maybe hint at -that the graves are old or that the nameless soldiers are falling into oblivion. |
^ Way to steal off of a website there ^
Also the cover refers 99% towards Disposable Heroes; the title Master of Puppets is the only thing in the song that really indicates war. |
For the last time master of puppets is about cocaine! how does chop your breakfast on a mirror refer to war? What about taste me you will see, more is all you need. I don't think people who taste war want more. none of those make sense about war.Disposable heroes is what the cover is about. okay?
taste me you will see, more is all you need. - could be about power
jeeze people no its not about power.... its about cocaine and drinking go to allmetallica.com it explains everything on every song...unless ur saying that as in power the drugs and cocaine have the power over you
Out of the 3 Metallica DVD's, which do you think is best, Live Sh*t, Cunning Stunts or S+M and why?
Live ****. I haven't seen it yet, but just yesterday, I saw Blackened, and instantly it became my favourtie.
