3 day weekend? Whats the occation?

Ramsey 04-29-2005 01:48 PM
"Found a way around it", it's a friendly thread to help people out, it's only common sense that such things are also against the rules. There's no need to find a way around the rules due to technicalities. This is not a federal constitution, there are no technicalities. They are guidelines...
Antihero puts a lot of effort in his thread, the least you can do is respect his guidlines. You for one are always eager to see your rules respected in your threads..
You're not getting me. I DID respect his rules. I NEVER broken them ever. I didn't do anything that went against his word. Of course I expect members to respect my rules, I never disrespected his guidelines in the thread. I complied by them and found a way around them. You didn't bother to outline this in the thread, so of course I was going to exploit this feature. If you expect me and other members to just "know" well sorry, I'm not buying that shit.
So yeah, it does bother me.
As I said, I stopped posting in there.

And i'm done. Sorry Jelle, we have conflicting views on this. But I stopped posting there and if I do I won't break that rule. I do not like to get accused.

Bank holiday.
3 day weekend? Whats the occation?
I'm guessing you are American because we have a bank holiday Monday :)

Eitri Is Berserk 04-29-2005 01:56 PM
I'm guessing you are American because we have a bank holiday Monday :)
A bank holiday.. We don't have those in America.. At least I don't think we do. The next real holiday here is Memorial day during the last week of May. I'm already planning it. :D

Your first sentence is absolutely illogical. You give me an example of getting around a law and people would say it's okay. "Yeah, I raped and murdered that woman, but at least she enjoyed it before she died." That's approaching CemetaryGates level, and I have a much, much higher respect for you than that, and I think it's just fucking ridiculous that you're getting so pissed over something so trivial.

I mean, come on, what's the difference between an entire album being uploaded with twelve separate links or one zipped file? There is none.

And other members just "know" because you are the only one who has tried to bullshit around the rules, and it needed to be brought to attention.

So, yeah. You don't have to buy it, but everyone else has.

i am the robots 04-29-2005 02:00 PM

I have a 3 day weekend too, but that's cause our school's plumbing backed up and the basement level is flooded, and I think I left a hoody in the German room.... ooh, so fun.

:chug:

I'll soon get to 1,000 for the second time.

Josh 04-29-2005 02:58 PM

MXican and metal guitar, what were your previous usernames?

Bartender 04-29-2005 02:59 PM

Eleventeen and ICB were rather spamming up the thread earlier anyway.

Anyway, I think next week is my last week of University, and I have Monday and half of Friday off :-/

Six Foot Revolver 04-29-2005 03:00 PM

He lost alot of posts through a thread deletion.

Six Foot Revolver 04-29-2005 03:07 PM

He got banned and they reduced his postcount as a punishment for making a thread in the pit about cumming in her eye

Bartender 04-29-2005 03:09 PM
'Tender, which Uni you go to? and is this also your last year there?
Leeds, and it's my first year. Probably won't be my last, since I like the university (except that's on top of a big hill) and the course.

Josh 04-29-2005 03:09 PM

ah...i didn't know postcount could be reduced as a punishment. i knew it went down if you had posts in a thread that was deleted though.

you're not exactly far away then 'Tender, i'm in Northumberland, so probably about 2 hours drive away, lol. i think one of my friend's cousins is at Leeds. what course you doing?

EDIT: wow, 3 of us posted simultaneously!

munky_magik 04-29-2005 03:10 PM

Apparently my guess was wrong :-/
EDIT: Perhaps not wrong.

'Tender: Did you see HHG?

The answer is one of these, or a combination. I find it hard to believe that I lost that many posts to thread deletion.

NP:Becker and Friedman-Black Stallion (very relaxing)

Six Foot Revolver 04-29-2005 03:17 PM

So the thread in the guitar forum about the dudes fingers almost made me literally sick. Anyone else?

NP:Led Zeppelin-Livin' lovin' maid

Bartender 04-29-2005 03:18 PM

I find it hard to believe DBJ bothered to manually reduce your postcount, though.
Well when I'm not in Leeds, I live around Newcastle, so I suppose I'm never that far away. And I'm doing Philosophy.
'Tender: Did you see HHG?
Yep. Did you? What did you think?

I have yet to see it. I'm a bit aprehensive about it, really :-/

I got turned onto this in Tab talk and it's pretty good. Some kind of Gothic metal, or some such. Has anyone ever heard of them?

Bartender 04-29-2005 03:31 PM

You're right to be apprehensive about the Guide film. I didn't like it much, but I'd still recommend seeing it..I won't say more for now, until you've seen it :)

And yeah, I think I've heard of Theatres Des Vampires, as something that Justin Broadrick was involved in before he really started concentrating on Jesu. Not as a full member of the band or anything though. Thanks for the song.

munky_magik 04-29-2005 03:32 PM

Now I'm really worried :(

One thing I want to know; What was Mos Def like?

Bartender 04-29-2005 03:38 PM

Very American/Canadian, and yet still claiming to be from Guildford. I got the impression he hadn't actually read the books beforehand :-/ Some of the lines/scenes he had just didn't seem to work.

Basically, don't go seeing it expecting a dramatisation of the book. The basic concept and characters are there, but the plot has been somewhat torn apart, added to, taken away from, changed, etc. I want to avoid using negative words like "mangled" because the changes aren't necesssarily negative (i.e. it might still be likeable as a film separate from the books), but from the perspective of a fan of the books, it isn't the Guide.

which film was this?

munky_magik 04-29-2005 03:45 PM
which film was this?
The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy.
Or perhaps it isn't :(

Illmatic 04-29-2005 03:49 PM
Joe: Haircuts = Bad
Not so. A lot of long-haired friends of mine like it better with short hair, because having long hair when you're white is, from what they have said, a greasy pain in the ass.

Next week is my last week of school and then I'm out for the summer....and I have no idea what I'm doing this summer. By the way, my girlfriend's brother is going with her, so I feel 100% better now. All signs point to him being a good protective older brother.

Question to the big guitar players here: what pickups are better, Texas Specials or Noiseless Pickups?

Josh 04-29-2005 03:49 PM
The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy.
Or perhaps it isn't :(
i was thinking of going to see that. i've only read part of the first book though.

Six Foot Revolver 04-29-2005 03:51 PM

I never read the books. Infact, I don't even know what the books are about :(

I think your best bet is to see the film, then read the books. You must, however, read the books at some point.
They really should be required reading at every single school.

Illmatic 04-29-2005 03:56 PM

I was never keen on the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy...it was okay, but a little too "British" for me.

ah, but 'tender, the "tru" fans will claim that the book is a 'mangling' of the original radio play.

yeh, they definitely should be required reading. lately i've been reading a lot of heroic action fantasy type stuff, by David Gemmell. i've read every book he's written so far, bar the one that hasn't been published yet.
