i know paper isn't very good for stencils cause the paper can bleed. but will thicker heavier stuff like drawing/art paper prevent this.

POINTLESS5448 04-03-2006 08:20 PM

that op ivy shirt is good. what did you use?

Ghostfire3 04-03-2006 08:34 PM

the picture of the guy skanking is on stencil punx. I made a shirt similar to that one.

incubass 04-03-2006 08:36 PM

^ yea thats where i got it from. Do u have any pics of ur shirt?

sub-bass 04-03-2006 08:49 PM

For mine, I just used the stencil from that site like incubass and ghostfire3 said, then just used acrylic paint and a foam brush.

incubass 04-03-2006 09:03 PM

Heres the finished shirt. keep in mind this was just a test shirt to get the hang of it its only my first one.

I find that photo paper (not really high quality, just low qulaity semi-gloss) prevents paints from soaking through and is easy to cut with an X-acto

Incubass's Op Ivy shirt looks great by the way

BCT 04-04-2006 03:27 PM

i will post the stencils soon but they are on a computer that has no internet connection

POINTLESS5448 04-04-2006 04:25 PM

fix it dumbass. burn them to a cd and put them on your sisters computer.

DaveToopes 04-04-2006 04:39 PM

Aww be nice to your friend mr. pointless5448.

mullets suk 04-04-2006 06:21 PM

i decided on making a "The Nimrods" shirt. with the song "To Lazy For Anarchy". this will be my first shirt, so with materials to buy. does the cloth paint come in spray only. or a type where you can "paint" it on??

POINTLESS5448 04-04-2006 06:41 PM

regular spraypaint works. its like $2 at home depot. no need for special ****.

POINTLESS5448 04-04-2006 08:58 PM

just made an adicts stencil.

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d172/pointless5448/Picture005.jpg

im going to spray it on a shirt tomorrow.

DaveToopes 04-04-2006 09:02 PM

That's the same desk that we have.

Stencil looks good.

Danger Bird 04-04-2006 10:47 PM

I picked up 2 new colours of spraypaint, time for some multi-tone stencils!!!

And here's what I've been doing with my week:

Minor Threat stencil, all cut out with white paper behind it:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v428/BPMead007/0ce26847.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v428/BPMead007/c216222e.jpg
Old shirt with test sprays on it:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v428/BPMead007/fde517ef.jpg
Marley close-up:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v428/BPMead007/6cb8cdf5.jpg
Subhumans close-up
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v428/BPMead007/DSC01010.jpg
Bad Brains close-up
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v428/BPMead007/9d9b9351.jpg

I'm almost done spraying with the Minor Threat stencil. Now I don't know what to spray these all on! I was thinking of making a jacket. I could either just spray those on there or make patches to put on it.

And does anybody know if it's okay to put spraypainted things in the washing machine?

clustifux 04-04-2006 10:54 PM

you can but you will have to re-spray it if you dont want the faded look.

Danger Bird 04-04-2006 10:56 PM

I guess I'll pick up spray-on fabric paint then.

Lukeh 04-05-2006 02:48 AM

Hmmm well since the last time I posted in here I've made 2 patches for my bag (one Streetlight and a Radiohead bear) and a You Say Party! We Say Die! t-shirt, but the patches are very muddy after a bike ride and the t-shirt is out on the line, so I'll get some pics up by tonight I reckon.

DaveToopes 04-05-2006 06:41 AM

I'm sorry, I suck at teh internetz, is that sarcasm? thanks, if it wasn't.

And yeah, I tried to spray Bad Brains on my shoes, but it didn't come out, so I sharpied in the logo over that big green mess and it looked pretty cool. I've got rasta colours on the toe and laces now as well.

Danger Bird 04-05-2006 05:06 PM

Thanks. I can't get that damn minor threat stencil to work though.
