Nice. A good strap for a heavy bass is pretty essential.
I love my guitar. I don't even feel it even after an hour long set. It's a feather.
Been trying to sell my Wasabi Delay for ages! It is a good one actually :) Very natural sounding. Doesn't stick to my pedalboard though. Definitely got a good deal for $50.
Never really thought about delay for a walking bassline, but I could imagine it sounding pretty messy! I tend to use delay mostly with volume swells. |
Also, to power your pedals, something like a 1spot would probably be ideal.
Delay on a walking bassline would be completely awful unless it was extremely short and even then it wouldn't be nice to hear. Too many chromatic notes being delayed over eachother, chord tones from one chord delaying through over the next bunch, it'd be a disaster.
I dunno, I think it has the potential to sound cool. You would obviously have to recognize what tones can follow others, but I'm sure you could get a nifty sounding walking bassline using delay.
Maybe at a very slow tempo, but at anything uptempo the delay would butcher the hell out of it.
oh hell yes i just got my redstar 212 cab in the mail today, man this thing is heavy.

I wouldn't say anything fast.... you'd just have to make some adjustments so it sounded tasteful. Cd: how heavy is the cab? |
Maybe if you take all the chromatics out of it but that's like making a steak sandwich with just bread.
What's Red Star, is that what became of Sovtek? |

What's Red Star, is that what became of Sovtek?
Red Star audio, a Houston Texas based cab making company. amaze, its exactly 80lbs. |
That's not too bad really, my cab is very very light and it's about 60 of your lbs.
what is it?

It's an Epifani UL212.
I just don't think this walking with delay thing will work, if someone posts a recording of it I'll evaluate it on its merits but putting on a delay pedal and and walking through a chorus of Stella just ain't gonna work in my mind. |
Well it definitely wouldn't work for every walking bassline... haha
om nom nom nom

havent played in weeks, and Im playing tomorrow night...my hands are SLOW!
You'll be okay, practise up overnight.
So close to finishing this album. I hate having a schedule that doesn't let me record every day.

I was thinking a single, quick delay, possibly reminiscent of a slap back or even just to make it sound like I'm playing every 8th note instead of every quarter, but not delaying over each other. I could also try to time it so the single delayed note is the swung 8th note. |
Hey guys.
Where are you recording?
Friend's house with some pretty not bad at all equipment and a guy who has almost 10 years experience recording music. |
hmm odd so i used my 212 cab i just got at practice over the weekend, and its actually louder then the 410 i was using at same volume level (2 out of 10 on master)
That's not too weird is it? I'd expect to get better results from a 212.
My 212 is louder than my friend's 4x10 and 1x15 stack.
heh i dunno i just figured the extra 16 inches of air the 410 pushes would make a diff
212s are awesome, I love mine to pieces.
