lets talk about something else. this subject gives me a headache
i agree. |
Yea seriously, people cover music all the time, but if Led Zeppelin does it, that makes them less of a band? That seems like a really far reach for a reason to dislike Zeppelin.
They didn't give credit to the other artist. That makes it totally different. How would you like it if someone stole one of your songs and made money off of it? |
1. The ramones aren't classic rock. They are punk.
2. Even if they were classic rock they would still not be on there because they suck. kthxbye
ok first off we werent talking about "classic" rock, it was the 100 greatest rock and roll songs, and punk is still rock and roll |
No. Punk is Punk.
Read the title of the list again, it says classic rock. In the classic rock thread. If the Ramones wanted a new genre called punk then let it be punk. |
i hate punk. its like a crappy rip off of pop music.
|
ok first off we werent talking about "classic" rock, it was the 100 greatest rock and roll songs, and punk is still rock and roll
You can't say "ok first off" if you only have one point to make. |
Why are you so obsessed on bringing Zeppelin down, mightyquinn.
You know, Lennon was sued for Come Together.(I love that song.)
It's not right! C'mon, we all love music on here, and we all know that you should give credits. What Zeppelin did was wrong and nobody seems to care. |
cause no body really does.
|
nobody does care so lets stop ****in talkin about it
|
What Lennon did was wrong and you dont seem to care.
I'll admit it. Led Zeppelin did do the wrong thing but they paid for there mistake. |
agreed.
|
http://www.warr.org/zep.html
Don't look at this if you are a hardcore Zeppelin fan.
The problem with the list is stuff like this "uncredited version of a traditional folk tune previously recorded by Bert Jansch. " So it was a traditional song, it doesn't really matter (Jansch didn't write it he just recorded it once whoopdy freaking doo) "apparently derived from Eddie Cochran's "Nervous Breakdown." " So? "uncredited cover of the traditional song" once again it's just a traditional song who cares? "the main guitar line is apparently from "Taurus" by Spirit." if you have to use the word apparently it's not worth stating. The rest seem to be valid (not that I've fact checked) but were still most likely altered by the band. |
this topic must end right now
|
What Lennon did was wrong and you dont seem to care.
Lennon took one line, Zeppelin took entire songs. |
Stealing is stealing
|
oh i got a question for you guys out there, since the topic of "stealing" music is goin no where, do u guys think that stairway had subliminal messages in it?
|

Wow, it has already been provin that it does. So whether you think it or not, its true. |
no i heard it doesn't have any meaning. it's poetic sounding stuff that was written in 15 minutes
|
Wow, it has already been provin that it does. So whether you think it or not, its true.
hmm... i thought that it was said that it didn't. well i have read sites stating both sides. even one that had a recording of it played forward and back. |
i think the only people that will ever know are the ones who wrote it and don't think they'll tell
|

Stairway and a few other songs with "subliminal messages". It doesn't seem like a coincidence, consider it is a pretty large consecutive part of the song. |
