No I mean that IS my setup, I just don't know whether to add the ozone or 19" china.

ofDooM 10-24-2006 09:35 PM

ohhh. i would go with the ride.

EDIT: the only things i dont like about tea are that it takes a lot of time to make, and i basically chug it because its too good.

Aaron 10-24-2006 09:37 PM

I want something to be a trashy crash/ride. mm..

ofDooM 10-24-2006 09:38 PM

heh...heh...heh.....

ive got my 18" vintage avedis for that :)

EDIT: or 22" for that matter..

EDIT2: Man, my thumb has been hurting for like the past 3 weeks. I dont know what caused it.

My left neck/shoulder has been in pain too. Whenever i stretch back, it literally cracks or something, like somethings in its way.

Aaron 10-24-2006 09:40 PM

grr lol. I have a 20" Dimensions crash i'm tempted to send to Johan_VDS to get hammered, but postage is alot of money from Australia to Europe for something thats 2.5k

Berk 10-24-2006 09:41 PM

So I got a letter of concern form my math teacher. Suposedly I'm getting below a 60, My parents were so ticked. Cause I usually get like 70's-80's in math. But it's because we started with ratios, Percents and decimals first. I SUCK AT THOSE. And know my mom is all like "Do your home work".

ofDooM 10-24-2006 09:43 PM

oh man, you wont believe how many cymbals i would love to send to him.

-18" Heavy UFIP Crash
-18" pAisTe Prototype Crash
-16" Broken Amir Crash (Splash perhaps?)
-20" Sabian Heavy Ride

These are just horrifying...The 18's are like crashing a heavy ride. Its terrible.

Aaron 10-24-2006 09:46 PM

Do your homework or you'll end up like me.

its because they are all heavy

ofDooM 10-24-2006 09:51 PM

Well, the paiste proto is a medium weight, but it sounds just as bad as the UFIP.

Futuro 10-24-2006 10:05 PM

I have a paiste Sig Power crash, its heavy. I love it though.

americans and their silly fractions
Uhh, I dont get it?

because americans are taught to use fractions in preference to learning about decimals at young age just to accomodate the stupid imperial system , they dont learn the decimal system effectively at young age

anyway the concept of decimal point ratio's are the same as fractions just contextualised in the base ten system

Berk 10-24-2006 10:20 PM

Stuepid ammmericens.

Wow. STEREOTYPICAL.

Loser 10-24-2006 10:21 PM

I learned the decimal system when I was young.

Berk 10-24-2006 10:24 PM

Omg. My video is almost done loading on youtube. It's a vid of me and my friends doing random things.

Linkage when it's done.

ofDooM 10-24-2006 10:27 PM

America does their things strange.

English, is by far, one of the strangest things. Imperial is quite odd too.

All our economy thinks about is money.

Leprechauns1021 10-24-2006 10:29 PM

I find fractions easier than decimals

I use fractions 90% more than decimals in class. I prefer to use percents anyways; they give a more accurate picture.
I use fractions 90% more than decimals in class. I prefer to use percents anyways; they give a more accurate picture.
not really. Its the same concept. you find it easier because you are more familiar with fractions

the difference between percentages and decimals (other than the way it is written out) is that decimals use a frame of reference as a common denominator whilst in fractions that frame always changes.

assuming our number is 10

1/2 = .5 or 50%

3/4 = .75 or 75%

7/8 = .875 or 87.5%

10/12 = .833 or 83.3%

it is more practical to have written out in decimal forms because it is more efficent when you are comparing figures

the difference in fractions of beetween 1/2 and 7/8 worked out in fractions is a more complex process

where as logically

.5 - .875 = .375. simple

someone work it out in fractions showing the process to prove the difference that working out fractions is more complex

1/2 = 4/8

4/8 - 7/8 = -3/8

the answer .375 you gave should of been -.375

This is all true, but there are common situations in which fractions are preferable to decimals, because they are always exact. Decimals are not, if you're working with irrational or repeating numbers.

LoneStarDrummer 10-24-2006 11:06 PM

that's right. fractions are precise while in many casses decimals are rounded off and only taken to a select amount of significant digits. percents in most cases make no sense.

White Riot! 10-24-2006 11:10 PM

indeed with things as such a 1/3 do not fit into the base ten system to represent. It all depends on the system your using.

other than miles , imperial measurement blows tbh.

percentages/decimals make more sense to me overall because that is placing within a frame for common exchange.

but in all honesty we do need to use both systems , however it is to my belief that the decimal/percentage systems are largely ignored by american standards

LoneStarDrummer 10-24-2006 11:13 PM

the metric system is better. but thanks to the imperial units i have no comprehension of the relevance of the metric system and have no means of mentally picturing their value in comparison to imperial units

well, i meant as in, my teachers expect me to use fractions other than decimals. this stuff is quite basic to me.

White Riot! 10-24-2006 11:19 PM

you get use to either system after doing work with both systems. As an apprentice draftsman I often get things required in imperial system , ive done it so much that the imperial system is easy to imagine......as long as they give me within 1/8's of an inch otherwise I pull out my calculator and convert to metric to grasp the size.

16ths of an inch is absurd

White Riot! 10-24-2006 11:21 PM
well, i meant as in, my teachers expect me to use fractions other than decimals. this stuff is quite basic to me.
of course they expect fractions rather than decimals , because before 1991 the metric system wasnt adopted by the U.S (even though they still dont use it) thus they have becomed conditioned to prefer fractions , because you could liken it to your home language , its what you are most familiar with

the problem is at some point of details the expressions of numbers via fractions become absurd

ofDooM 10-24-2006 11:22 PM

i just dont understand america...

well, im off to bed everyone. later.

That's it.

Leave me alone =/

An offhand joke here or there is one thing, but you really should just stop acknowleding my existance.

Electric Requiem 10-24-2006 11:39 PM

The imperial system is for people in a country too stupid to change to metric. Im not normally hating Americans, and I know that many of you would change it if you could but come on. They thought it would ruin to Canadian economy and it did very little, the longer you guys wait the more ****ed over youll be.

Sync0pation 10-24-2006 11:45 PM

yeah so I just got back from chili peppers concert at philly. Surreal. I will post more info tomorrow, I'm off to bed now.

LoneStarDrummer 10-24-2006 11:46 PM

well i don't think waiting will hurt us any, but i do feel we should convert sooner or later. the imperial unit really has little use in science anyways. we never use the imperial units in physics nor calculus.

TheBigMachine 10-25-2006 01:55 AM

Guys...

So I have a wee bit of a problem.
The other night, at this concert type thing here in Alice(it was an opening ceremony) some kids came and wiped out my mate then ran off, and were never seen again. A few of their friends were standing around and over heard my mate call them fags. Yesterday at the bus stop, six or seven of them rocked up and started on him. Luckily, they're not completely stupid and didnt hurt a girl(one our mates stood in between us) and nothing happened.

Today, there was like 14 people. Well **** that I thought to myself. Anyway, once again they started on my mate(for some background, my mate is built like a house, he's huge. Not fat, just incredibly muscley), and I decided to just get him on his bus. So, now theres a bit of a crowd watching and I'm trying to get him on the bus. I get him on there, and then they start on me. Now, Im 6ft and not quite as muscley as my mate, but not many people mess around with me. So now it's fourteen onto, well, me.

So my mate gets off the bus again, and another mate of mine from way back shows up. He's there backing us up, but eventually he cruises. One of the bus drivers tries to break it up, to no avail. I get Dean on the bus again, and while theyre busy talking amongst each other, i get another couple of my mates who know these kids to talk to them.

My mate, dean, gets off the bus AGAIN, but luckily he get's back on when I yelled at him.

So, the problem is, fifteen or so kids want to fight me and one mate. 15-2.

Corkofski 10-25-2006 02:25 AM

can i kindly request you stop talking about maths so i can post?
/failed maths

my room is full of random ****. think last nigt was good:)
