Apparently my friends sister used to be a big avril lavigne fan and all of that, then she watched the kids are alright and her taste in music completely changed.

Badmoon 08-16-2005 12:47 PM

I got Sin City :D

That's cause she went from poser hardcore-ness to real hardcore-ness.

Man my friends dad just got back from Jamaica...he's been living there for like a year now and it's awesome having him back. My friends mom doesn't allow us to smoke up and she freaks out and she made him take a drug test and crap like that, and suddenly his dad's back and he set up a neat little place in the garage with a foosball table and couches and stuff so we can all smoke up out there. It's great.

Now the real reason I'm on the internet right now is because I wanna look at some porn and I'm not sure whether my dad is in the house somewhere...it's always awkward when he walks in.

Badmoon 08-16-2005 02:15 PM

That's a good post.

Topics including marijuana, ****, etc. You should be proud :thumb:

Not to discuss classic rock with your internet friends?

BludgeonySteve 08-16-2005 03:32 PM

I haven't smoked in over 8 months. My band members said that it was damaging my brain and making me practise my guitar less. Which it was ;) :smoke:

Me and my friends smoke weed more than anyone we know...which is sort of depressing/pathetic if you look at it that way. Every once in a while we hang out with dealers who deal by the pound, and even they marvel at how much we can smoke. My one friend smokes cigarettes and I have been enjoying the odd cigarette now and again, except last night I smoked three and I really don't wanna get addicted so I'm not gonna let myself smoke any for a few weeks.

What do you guys think is your favourite live album? I've been thinking of that for a while, and I'd say Live/Dead and The Soundtrack to The Song Remains the Same are probably my favourites. I'm not exactly sure though. Lets hear some of yours, I will probably end up changing my opinion because I have the bad habit of forgetting about albums. Live at Folsom Prison is really good too.

Leper 08-16-2005 03:42 PM

oh man, i had a good haul today for vinyls..

purchased:

Jethro Tull- Thick as a Brick, Stand Up, Broadsword and the Beast
Supertramp- Famous Last Words, Surely
Tom Petty- Long After Dark
Dire Strates- Brothers in Arms
The Eagles- One of These Nights

thickasabrick 08-16-2005 03:46 PM

Very nice!!!!

I've never heard Famous Last Words before, tell me how it is...I love Supertramp. I've got all those other albums except for Broadsword and the Beast. I've actually never heard all of Broadsword and the Beast either, but I've heard quite a few of the songs.

How much were all those vinyls? Good condition?

Badmoon 08-16-2005 03:49 PM
me too! which cover did you get?
Mickey Rourke and some chick (miho?)

I haven't seen it yet, so I'm not sure who their names are.

A couple of days ago, I shared four bowls, and a cigar blunt with three other guys, after we finished three beers and two cigars.

I was so high I was scared, similar to how I felt while on shrooms.
well at least some of us have our heads on straight. it's a start. i'm wanna see some band come along and revitalize the classic rock style...
i think the hole point of classic rock is that it is classic... if a new band came along i dont think any would be as good as lets say Zeppelin or the Eagles right??

thickasabrick 08-16-2005 03:55 PM

Last week we bought 34 grams because the exhibition was in town, me and my two friends finished it in a little over two days. It was such good weed, probably some of the best I've ever had. My friend bought a new glass bong the same day we bought the 34 g and that bong just gets you messed up.

I have a really big craving to listen to Strange Days and play guitar so I'm going downstairs...see you guys later.

Mickey Rourke is a badass in that movie. Him and Bruce Willis. Basically the whole movie is really badass. I'm going to go get it after I play frisbee tonight.

Leper 08-16-2005 03:58 PM

Jessica Alba is super hot in that movie. She's hot in every movie, but that one especially.

$32, most in very good condition. Oh man, the cover art on Broadsword and the Beast is incredible. I think i'll listen to Famous Last Words right now just so i can give you the downlow. :thumb:

Glitterati 08-16-2005 04:07 PM

I need to see Sin City. Stupid strict parents (grumble grumble etc).

To make this post somewhat relevant to classic rock, np: Don't Fear The Reaper - Blue Oyster Cult

White_heat 08-16-2005 04:08 PM

I got some new vynils today
King Crimson- Discipline
Jethro Tull- Aqualung
Yes- Fragile
Weather Report- Heavy Weather
Allman Brothers- Idlewild South

Im just wondering

Whats so great about Sin City?

Leper 08-16-2005 04:12 PM

ahh man listening to Famous Last Words means i have to take After the Goldrush out of the 'ol record player..oh well, it had a good run.

Glitterati 08-16-2005 04:18 PM

I might have to get After The Goldrush soon. Southern Man is one of my favorite Neil Young songs (along with Harvest Moon and Down By The River) so, yeah....
Apparently, lots of guns and gratuitious violence, hot girls, and cool black and white visuals.

MBS 08-16-2005 04:25 PM

Harvest Moon and Down By the River aren't on ATGR.

But I still agree that you need to get it, it's an excellent album.

Leper 08-16-2005 04:28 PM

Quite possibly my favourite album of my collection at the moment.

Illmatic 08-16-2005 04:43 PM

Is it just me, or does the beginning of Nelly's "Hot in Herre" sound like it was ripped right from the beginning of Neil Young's "There's a World"?

being a huge Neil Young fan, i'm extremely embarrassed to admit that i've never heard that song. :upset:

I had to talk my parents into it. It was alright, I wasn't expecting Elijia Wood to be pwned so hard, though
