Haha.. We're doing dance in gym right now.. :(
|
ha. i didnt have a gym class after freshman year. and we swam.
oh wait, i mightve taken one first semester of sophomore year. we DID have a yoga class though. |
the last time we had to do dance in gym was third grade for me, if we ever do it again i will refuse to do it.
|
Last year of gym. I hate gym mostly because of the 10-15 mins of running while listening to ACDC. I'm not a big runner but other then that I really like gym.
No basketball unit this year though, that was last year. We play dodgeball vs. the freshmen thats always fun. Last time we played they beat us but they had two freshmen gym classes vs I think we had 16 kids that day so we were half of what they were. I always have fun playing dodgeball I make sure to go after the fat kids, the noise when you hit them in the stomach fat is just so fun. We have to do the Jitterbug(?) about every year for a week or two but I actually really like dancing as long as my partener isn't an idiot, or fat. |
The best is going bowling in Gym. It's tons better then being forced to run around in the abnormally hot gym.
|
We arn't allowed to play dodge ball at my school, someone might get hurt .
NP - Sabbra Cadabra (Black Sabbath)
Same here. We were allowed to play it until 2-3 years ago, but somebody upstate got injured playing it, sued the state, and the state made it illegal in public schools. Fucking bullshit. We don't do any of these retarded things in gym that you guys do like dancing. We don't swim either, but I don't like swimming so I don't really care about that. We basically get there, wait 10 minutes for the teacher to get ready, play something for like 20 minutes (now volleyball:mad:), and then leave 10 minutes early. So how about that classic rock, eh? |
I like running. We usually listen to The Beatles or Metallica CDs in class, cause that's what most people bring in. Dance is horrible. The teacher tried to teach some line dancing shit today. Only one or two kids actually participate.
|
we DID have a yoga class though.
I don't take gym anymore, but I wouldn't mind doing yoga. I should really try that. I've been getting into Love & Theft lately, specifically Mississipi. What did everyone else think of it? |
So how about that classic rock, eh?
So how about it, I wish I had all the sweet band shirts they wear on That 70's Show. |
We run outside, so fuck you guys who listen to music while running in the gym. :(
So how about that classic rock, eh?
I think it's safe to say that this is the CR reg community thread, except we mainly talk about CR. |
We listen to some pretty trashy music off the radio. Usually some Gwen Stefani or MCR trash. It's pretty bad.
None of my teachers are cool like me. Although one teacher I saw has a Who poster like in Lunch's ava. I wish I had him. Me + Him + The Who = A np: Morning Dew |
Couldn't you run around the block and listen to music until class is over?
How do you mean? And who is that directed at? |
Here you only have to take one semester of Gym. I'm in it right now, we just play basketball or go to the fitness room where there are treadmills, bikes, lifting machines, etc. Later we're going to play soccer, ping-pong, tennis, and stuff. We don't have to dance, there's a seperate class for that.
Again I missed the Dead discussion. I have DP 28 (omg avatar!) plus the ones JonG sent out. It's absolutely amazing. I also have a bootleg from the show my dad was at, and I've been trying to upload for like a week with no success. It's really good too. |
Were doing the same EXACT thing as your school, one semester, and we go to the fitness room alot
|

Isn't that DP 22? I remember you talking about that one and I own it as well. My calculus teacher is pretty big into the Dead and Phish. |
Oh shit, yea I meant 22 :p
|
my world civ teacher is like obsessed with Frank Zappa, whenever we have a quiet assignment he plays One Size Fits All.
|
Could someone upload the last song on DP 12? It gave me an error when I tried to extract it.
|
Yep. I will.
|
I just purchased the program for my restoration!!
:D :D :D I'm so happy that all my music will be returning! |
copypod?
very useful. the trial version served me well. i'm arguing in the community thread about kanye west. |
Hey robo check your Yahoo mail I sent you Jethro Tull

My english teacher plays u2 on occasion :upset: np: Yung Wun ft. DMX- Tear it Up |
in gym my freshman and sophomore year, our teacher would play country, even though he occasionally played Skynard.
none of my other teachers really played stuff....except my history teacher, who was a Beatles fan...he'd play Respect and War and stuff like that when we got to certain eras in US history. |
My last two years of high-school were awesome. Every once in a while we'd do something different, but usually we just split the gym in half with floor hockey on one side, and basketball on the other side. GREAT class.
As for music we always just had the radio on. Usually on the CR station though.:) |
My gym classes music was either ****ty ****ty rap, or you shook me all night long.
|
Last night I took a salvia trip in my room. I turned off all the lights, and had only an incense stick and a candle for light...basically all I could see was the candle and my Jimi Hendrix incense holder. I'm not gonna go through the entire trip, but it involved my Jimi Hendrix incense holder coming to life. Me, Jimi, and some other guy who was a little further down the path (my wall had a path leading into a really beautiful world) were all walking and somehow we were on a team trying to make like a big wheel turn or something. It was like we were all on different levels for a big hampster wheel or something. The other guy kept cheering me on and I was cheering him and Jimi on. Eventually I finally realized that *the* Jimi Hendrix (although his legs were about 30 feet long) was on my team, so I asked him to play something for me....that was as I was coming out of the trip and after blowing out the fire that was threatening to burn him (the candle) and a minute of watching a really crazy stage form around him out of the darkness, I realized I was talking to my incense holder.
Discuss any really cool classic rock related trips or dreams you've had lately. I'm sick of hearing about school and finals and crap. |
The guy down the hall who I jam with has salvia. He said last time they had Yellow Submarine playing, and everything turned all cartoony. I'll probably try it out soon.
|
What is salvia? I know nothing about it.
I'm starting to get into Roy Orbison. Any recommendations of particularly good albums to get? |
Salvia is a plant, it's part of the mint family. It's active chemical is Salvinorum A, which is an extremely versatile psychedelic. It can produce marijuana-like highs at low doses (minus the munchies!), increased visual patterns/moving objects etc. like on mushrooms at medium doses, or full blown trips to other dimensions at high doses. You usually smoke it, although you could eat the leaves. The trips last between like 1 and 25 minutes when smoked, it varies a lot. Most people can't reach the full blown hallucinogenic states because you have to take extremely massive hits and hold them in for about 30 seconds, and the smoke is fairly harsh. I reach the full-blown state about 1 in every 3 or 4 times I smoke it.
It was used by the Central American tribes for spiritual reasons, they also used stuff like magic mushrooms, peyote, and morning glory seeds. It is still legal in North America, groups are trying to illegalize it...but it isn't chemically related to any other drugs, and it doesn't have a history of abuse at all. edit - And I wish I had more Roy Orbison. All I have is his Greatest Hits on vinyl. |
I sent out that bootleg last night.
I think you guys got it. |
The featured artists are on-
Dark Star>Spanish Jam>Turn on Your Love Light 2-11-1970 Fillmore East (late show) This was later released as Dick's Picks vol. 4 I belive.
That's the email I received....it didn't actually have a link to the album though... I've been listening to Dylan's debut album a lot lately. His singing and playing is definitely most intense on that album. NP: Baby Let Me Follow You Down. |

My calculus teacher is pretty big into the Dead and Phish.
My science teacher puts on the Dead and Phish some times, and my Art theacher has put on Van Morrison, Queen, Bob Dylan, and Neil Young so far. We got into a big argument over the merrets of Dylan's Live '75. She's one of the few people I know who actually listens to Deep Purple. Np: La Villa La Strangiato - Rush |

And I like Dylan's debut a lot. He sounds so old for a 20 year old. Thanks a bunch for the Aqualung, Krabs. I've been needing this for a while. Roy Orbison is amazing. I'd probably start out with a compilation, just because I've never seen a studio release of his in stores. He's got tons of compilations out, and most of them are a great overview of his career, so I'd just pick one of those up. A Black and White Night is an excellent live album that he recorded with some friends just before he died. I'd get that too. Simon and Garfunkel are so amazing. I think I'll go make a thread on them in Other Music just because I'm bored. |

That they are. I've never seen a full album by Roy, so I'd say get a greatest hits. np: Dick Dale - Misirlou |
Does anybody here own the Ibanez Weeping Demon wah pedal? im really thinking about getting this when i go to guitar center but i dont know if its worth it, if its not could somone recomend me a good pedal that has a decent sounds for funk/blues you know, all of that.
NP: Frank Zappa - Broken Hearts Are For Assholes EDIT: wtf? asshole is blocked and replaced with Spatula? EDIT2: ahh, A$hole |
"When I was younger I wanted to get a tattoo of Roy Orbison, but my mom wouldn't let me." *flashes right buttcheek with said tattoo* "What mama don't know won't hurt her. Keep that in mind." *leaves*
That's about my only knowledge of Roy Orbison though :upset: I feel like the only person in this thread who has never tripped :upset: :upset: |

You're not the only one, I don't do drugs. Anyone listen to Ryan Adams? He's a relatively new country folk-ish singer songwriter, quite popular in Alt/Indie. Not at all like that modern country crap, he's actually really good. I like him. |
I havent done the stuff, but I don't come in here too often.
But, I stocked up on Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton yestday. Man, Reptile is an awesome album. |
Ryan adams is pretty good, I went through a whole elliot smith paul simon type phase last year, he's pretty good but a lot of people do the same type of thing.
