When I ask some dude who looks like he's into Metal and Hardcore and whatnot what he listens to and he says Death Metal. And then I ask what Death Metal and he says Whitechapel. I just no it's going to be a boring conversation from there on. It's not that everyone who likes Whitechapel is boring or anything, it's just people who that's their ideal Death Metal band.

I don't think there's anything wrong with liking them, I can certainly tollerate them much more than Lady Gaga, but they're just such a mundane band, run-of-the-mill, generic. They're like the BMTH of Death Metal.
you fag next thing you'll be saying old cryptopsy beats new

Deth 02-09-2011 10:49 AM
Whatever, I have friends who listen to Lady Gaga.

I may not be able to spell, but at least I don't go around saying one musician I like is better than an entire genre.
yeah good thing I don't do that either

rasputin 02-09-2011 12:03 PM
lol oops, labotomy... *slaps forehead*

But seriously, there's nothing good about Lady Gaga, you just like the catchy beats.
it's actualy lobotomy, but maybe that would have been your third guess

Angmar 02-09-2011 12:07 PM

hahahahaha well done

Deth 02-09-2011 12:50 PM

liking asphyx more and more every time I listen to them

just pure riffs

Anglachel 02-09-2011 01:11 PM

van Drunen has the best AAAAAAAAAUUUGHHH in music

Angmar 02-09-2011 01:32 PM

agreed

adb 02-09-2011 01:39 PM

so yeah, new neuraxis

cant wait to hear the excuses from you guys on why you don't like them

they're the kings of the groovy-tech riff

Deth 02-09-2011 01:41 PM

brent in the death metal thread

sigh

adb 02-09-2011 01:45 PM

first post up, jason already going the distance

Itwasthatwas 02-09-2011 02:52 PM

tbh I like the new Neuraxis, and a lot of other tech death, but just not for any of the same reasons I like other DM

adb 02-09-2011 02:56 PM

the reasons to like any music or entertainment medium are the same

we want it to have a resonating effect, it's why I'm picky with everything

why bother with something if it has no lasting impression

Angmar 02-09-2011 04:35 PM

lol

Txus 02-09-2011 04:58 PM
we want it to have a resonating effect, it's why I'm picky with everything
and yet you listen to tech death...

Anglachel 02-09-2011 05:48 PM

seriously? my posts are deleted?

gunna say it again, adbs posting has no lasting impression so he should just stop posting entirely

publicastration 02-09-2011 07:36 PM
so yeah, new neuraxis

because its probably gonna be more over produced generic shit

Trilateral Progression is a pretty solid album, but it's more raw and aggressive, and the new shit isn't and that's why it sucks

vocals are so much better on Trilateral as well

rasputin 02-09-2011 08:25 PM

i want music to have an emotional component and leave a solid, lasting impression which will positively affect my life and my surroundings. that's why i listen to tech death.

witchxrapist 02-09-2011 09:00 PM

ahahahahahahahahhaha
vocals are so much better on Trilateral as well
is that the one with (the) Plasmarifle's vocalist?

rasputin 02-09-2011 09:28 PM

finally got my innumerable forms 7" in the mail

one of my favourite 2010 releases

DBlitz 02-09-2011 09:37 PM

very solid demo/ep/whatever

listened to that along with the other 'big name' dm demo's/ep's from '09 a week or two ago, which i haven't listened to in ages.

rasputin 02-09-2011 09:38 PM

yeah it's fantastic

will cherish this record almost as much as my cruciamentum tape :D

DBlitz 02-09-2011 09:39 PM

haha

i wonder if those two will ever release albums

witchxrapist 02-09-2011 09:42 PM

If Cruciamentum does a full length I'll cum all over myself.

DBlitz 02-09-2011 09:45 PM

yea that would rule

rasputin 02-09-2011 09:46 PM

yeah, no doubt that it would destroy

the tape with just 3 songs on it is one of the best (if not the best) demos i've heard

Itwasthatwas 02-09-2011 09:50 PM
i want music to have an emotional component and leave a solid, lasting impression which will positively affect my life and my surroundings. that's why i listen to tech death.
classic

had some cool parts, overall it was pretty decent i thought. not amazing or anything though.
the reasons to like any music or entertainment medium are the same
lol

adb 02-10-2011 02:42 PM

yeah I thought it was like 3.3/5

and you guys are really dumb and write off tech death, there are so many riffs in the bands I like, I'm sure you guys are aware the term "riff salad"

another thing what I like about music is vocal hooks, which some bands tend to have in dm in general

Morumbar 02-10-2011 02:50 PM

So I finally checked out God Dethroned. Couple of friends have been bugging me a lot about that band. I liked Into the Lungs of Hell. Didn't seem particularly special, though, but maybe it needs more than one listen to sink in.
