just sent out loaded. you guys need to download it. or i'll die!
I didn't download it.

/watches PF die

My computer is about to kick the bucket. I'm currently downloading the entire first seasons of Lost and Arrested Development, as well as Flowers, DP 12, and The Harder They Come.

So how 'bout them Steelers...

Glitterati 01-22-2006 08:19 PM

The Byrds were pretty cool....haven't discussed them in a while.

Excellent albums :p

The Byrds are awesome. I will never forget the first time I heard Sweetheart of the Rodeo.

pigonthewing82 01-22-2006 08:46 PM
The Byrds were pretty cool....haven't discussed them in a while.
I heard the Byrds could have been huge if one of their albums wasn't pushed back because of a legal issues, but it came out after Sgt. Pepper's and Sgt. Peppers pretty much pwned everything on the market when it came out.

PinkFreud 01-22-2006 08:48 PM

arrested devlopment is a great show. i have both seasons on burned dvd.

Sgt. Pepper's pretty much destroyed the competition when it came out. I hear that's why Brian Wilson went nutty.

Phallus Dei 01-22-2006 09:09 PM

Brian was just doing too much acid and then stress killed him. I suppose Pep's didn't help him.

Hawt Bowie.

Krabsworth 01-22-2006 09:09 PM

The Byrds' singles are pretty good but so much on their albums is filler.

JonG 01-22-2006 09:48 PM

I like almost all of Sweetheart..

Last night I downloaded The Closing of Winterland and the Grateful Dead OST.

9 discs :O

TheDMV 01-22-2006 09:49 PM

I'm surprised there isn't much Byrds discussion in here with all the roots rock fans.

thickasabrick 01-22-2006 10:14 PM

I don't even really like The Byrds.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 01-22-2006 10:22 PM

We used to discuss them a whole lot awhile ago then I think we all realized they weren't very good and stoped talking about them all together....or Badmoon stoped posting as much.

Did anyone know that the average elephant's brain is 12 pounds, 5 times bigger than the average human......

magicbus 01-22-2006 10:22 PM

Me neither. I like the song they did for Easy Rider and Mr. Tambourine Man (although not as much as Dylan's).

MidnightRider 01-22-2006 10:27 PM

As far as Mr. Tambourine Man is concerned, Dylan > The Byrds.

Seafroggys 01-23-2006 12:12 AM
As far as Mr. Tambourine Man is concerned, Dylan > The Byrds.
I disagree

PinkFreud 01-23-2006 12:43 AM

nah. i can't stand the byrds' version. i think the stripped down sound fits the song more.

plus i just don't like the byrds.

Leper 01-23-2006 01:08 AM

I like the Byrds. In fact I think I'll start looking into getting some of their albums.

I think the Byrds are very good.

temporary 01-23-2006 02:53 PM

I love the song The Byrds did from Easy Rider, but I can't stand their version of Mr. Tambourin Man. Eight Miles High is a seriously awesome song, though.

jpj 01-23-2006 02:57 PM

The Byrds are for the most part hit or miss for me. Sweetheart of the Rodeo is very good, and 5D has some good songs, but a lot of their stuff I find very average.

temporary 01-23-2006 03:05 PM

Downloading Loaded right now, I'm looking forward to hearing it. My freind's a huge VU fan, and he keeps telling me to get it.

Brewer14 01-23-2006 03:08 PM

What are some good Jethro Tull songs, besides Aqualung and Locomotive Breath?

Lunch 01-23-2006 03:15 PM

Teacher, Nothing is Easy, My God, Thick as a Brick, My Sunday Feeling, With You There to Help Me, Bouree, A New Day Yesterday, Wind Up, Hymn 43, Dharma For One.

Lunch 01-23-2006 03:30 PM

Their albums from This Was to Thick As a Brick are great. After that I haven't heard much material but supposedly it's pretty good.

robo2448 01-23-2006 03:32 PM

I really like The Byrds. Fifth Dimension is great, although there is a little filler. Ballad of an Easy Rider is pretty inconsistent but has some great songs. I was going to buy Sweetheart of the Rodeo the other day, but it was too expensive.

Last.fm is in:
1 The Rolling Stones 26
2 Bob Dylan 25
3 Jefferson Airplane 17
4 The Beatles 15
5 Paul McCartney 13
6 Cream 12
7 Gov't Mule 7
8 The Velvet Underground 3
9 Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young 2
9 Spirit 2

I lost power for 3 full days this week which meant no listening to music on the computer so the totals might be a little low.

I really need to get more Jethro Tull. All I have is Stand Up. Bouree is my favorite song by them.

Woot, The Harder They Come finally came in the mail :)

And bubble wrap was included too :)

Fun++
Can I just tell you to get Thick As A Brick, on the grounds that it's probably one of the best prog albums ever. Aqualung comes narrowly behind it, but nothing beats Thick As A Brick for me, even if it's not exactly the most "accessible" of albums or anything like that. I've never understood the reaction most people have to Jethro Tull. Progressive rock hardly gets the best response from most people thanks to its stereotype, but Jethro Tull were hugely experimental, and made some really good albums in different styles. They're pretty underrated in my opinion.
Thick As a Brick is gold-like. The song blows my mind every time, I don't know how a fourty five minutes epic can be 'catchy' but somehow, to me, it is.

Whats the deal with everyone posting these top artists lists?

because he's not talented. he has a ****ty flow and his lyrics are vapid and stupid too often.

"grab a drink, grab a glass. after that i grab your ***."

genius stuff.
