can you at least make a vague point to support this like i did
well you tell me, you seem to be the expert and i actually made my point in the post you replied to but you obviously didn't get it
art is art obviously how much you like it is subjective
mr blitz has got the right idea, but i dont expect you to understand jaundice, maybe you read the rong bookz |
this whole 'all music is subjective yo it's just my opinion' crap is getting tiresome, because music is not entirely subjective.
Nah.
farting in a microphone is not objectively better than tchaikovsky, though someone can subjectively think so if they wish.
Of course. Classical music isn't going to turn everyone on. Some might like Mr. Methane's take on the Blue Danube more then the real thing, though.
objectivity exists in music just as much as in anything else. it's just annoying/lol when idiots try and use concepts they don't understand to pass off their poopty opinions on other people.
In regards to personal taste I would say intersubjectivity is the closest we are ever going to get to an educated agreement about something. |
classical music isn't even sound good except for baroque
Nah.
nah as in nah it isn't or nah it is?
Of course. Classical music isn't going to turn everyone on. Some might like Mr. Methane's take on the Blue Danube more then the real thing, though.
i wasn't using the example of classical music for any particular reason, just to point out how absurd the example is. my point was that some things are better in their respective aims than other things, but this does not stop people from thinking otherwise. in other words, there is an element of subjectivity and objectivity to everything, not solely one or the other. |

We can agree on historical significance, technical mastery, whatever qualities are musically strong, I guess there is a sort of "scale" in a manner, not everyone will agree on it but there is something even if it is fluid. As for whether the result is aesthetically pleasing or not... it's an open field to the individual on that one. |
yeah that's basically what i'm saying ;)
lol your post wasn't subjective at all, you made an objective claim. way to fail at trying to be smart.
objectivity is a myth (in this context)...typing "I think..." at the beginning of each sentence when commenting on something can get tiresome...plus it would be even more redundant with the user's name to the left of the post. kinda like how i can dress up for halloween as jeffree star but im not rly jeffree star (god i wish i was) NP: mozart's requiem |
