Jess:
Its not what your used to from catch 22. Its very diffrent. Keasby nights is thomas, cmon, we all know it. The next two albums was catch 22 trying to replace thomas, which is alot on any band. Permanent Revolution is Catch 22 as their own band. Its got alot more pop/reggae, and i enjoy it alot. I saw them live a couple weeks ago. They play the new tracks so well live. I was a Catch 22 fan before Streetlight manifesto even existed... but i dont even count Keasby nights as catch 22 anymore, its a tottally diffrent band.

ThisUserIsAPipebomb 08-31-2006 10:13 AM

Yeah I agree that it is a totally different band. Tomas rules my pants. And without Tomas, C22 just isn't much.

I'll check out the new album just because you're so insistent.

Kif 08-31-2006 10:16 AM

I'm so pissed that I haven't got any gigs lined up. I might check out the Rock City website today, see whose playing.

I never thought it was funny. It's the first time I even saw the video. But it happens every year at Leeds for some reason.

Gotta talk to my friend about seeing Rancid. No doubt he already has tickets.

I'd be screwed :(

I'm supposed to be getting a job in his lab and help on homework :-\

The best part was the cop was like "we might be able to tell you why we're not letting people in at noon. We won't let you in yet, but we might tell you why we can't." Argh. :-\

Jessizzle 08-31-2006 12:25 PM

Jessizzle 08-31-2006 12:32 PM
i think it's 70 for the catch 22 show
No way.
I paid 20 to see them with voodoo glow skulls last month

ThisUserIsAPipebomb 08-31-2006 12:32 PM

What the hell. I would never pay that much to see a band.

I might pay that much to go to a fest, but it'd have to be really good.

Untitled 08-31-2006 12:33 PM

$70 seems a lot to see a band

/no idea how much that is in GBP.

Untitled 08-31-2006 12:35 PM

£33, dosnt seem too bad, i never pay that much though, unless its a band i absolutly have to see, like Muse, which i paid that for.

I usualy pay around £10/15 for gigs though.

Jessizzle 08-31-2006 12:36 PM

This isnt like a regular concert.. Its at some fancy place..
But BBVD are one of my favourite bands, and iv always wanted to see a live swing band

edit: Iv gotten into so many shows for free.
I splurge(sp?) sometimes. Like 25$ for Streetlight and RBF.. **** that was alot.
same with Catch 22 20$..
I normally pay 10$ max

ZaaR 08-31-2006 12:39 PM

15 pounds is like 30 canadian i think

i'm paying 80 dollars to see tool, but it will be worth it

Mute Print 08-31-2006 12:41 PM

There's a chance I may be getting free tickets to see Tool when they come here.

I don't really listen to Tool much, but if I can get in free, I'll go.

ZaaR 08-31-2006 12:42 PM

they're playing with isis

Jessizzle 08-31-2006 12:43 PM

I have decided Big Bad VooDoo daddy is now tied with streeetlight for my 3rd favourite band.
HEatskores and Johnstones 4lyfe though.

edit: LOL i can get tickets to see rancid on BOTH days, but now im like..
LOL 3tards in oshawa> rancid in toronto.

free shows> 40$

ThisUserIsAPipebomb 08-31-2006 12:43 PM

Yeah I usually pay $10-15 USD unless it's a fest, which I typically won't pay more than $30 for.

Mute Print 08-31-2006 12:44 PM
they're playing with isis
Nice.

I don't really know much about the show they're supposedly playing here. I know a couple promoters in the area, and they've told me that it's rumored that Tool is supposed to be playing here later in the fall. We'll see if that ends up being true.

But, if it is, I may get in free. So that's cool to know. :)

I'm paying $20 to see Rancid, but that's basically the most I ever pay to see a show. I get into a lot of shows free.

Thats insane, like £40 for one band.

I saw 21+ bands last weekend for £130, jeez.
