Superpeer: I was thinking, should the R&Mer of the month get stars as well? I think that would make sense...
I don't think they should.

manuscriptreplica 03-08-2005 06:37 AM

I vote no.

Otherside 03-08-2005 06:44 AM

Stars are for good posting right? The R&M winners are supposedly the best posters of the month, so who else would be more qualified?

jpj 03-08-2005 06:45 AM

Maybe a they could just get one rep or something.
Stars are for good posting right? The R&M winners are supposedly the best posters of the month, so who else would be more qualified?
Who else would be more qualified? Stars are awarded through reps from numerous mods, for contributions to the boards as a whole, not just one forum. There are a lot of people more qualified.

R&M'er of the month is just a glorification; a way for the most helpful kid over the duration of the month to get a little recognition. It's not a merit for free stars.

munky_magik 03-08-2005 06:49 AM

Stars is going a bit too far I think, they may be the best user of the month but that doesn't automatically qualify them for stars.
Stars should come from consistency, not one good month.

Also once word gets out that you recieve stars for winning, then stars would have to be awarded for Pop-punker of the month, punk of the month, alt/indier of the month. So guess which forums would be flooded by people trying to get stars.

Otherside 03-08-2005 06:52 AM

Oh, I thought it was a one-rep-stars type of deal. Nevermind then.

munky_magik 03-08-2005 06:54 AM

All of the Mods were set to a 2000 rep baseline, so it would take numerous reps to get a user up to the 1000/2000 required for stars.

Otherside 03-08-2005 06:56 AM

I wasn't sure how mx had reset up the rep system, he really didn't specify. I just figured he set it up so that if you got repped by a mod you get stars.

munky_magik 03-08-2005 07:01 AM

I'm not sure either. I don't think anyone knows the requirements for stars.
I really need to stop posting here, I have an essay due in in three and a half hours :(

Jom 03-08-2005 09:31 AM
I don't know really. I'll tell you what i'm looking for specifically.

- And CHEAP! I want nothing less than 500$! Even thats too crazy for me!

So thats all I really want in a keyboard. No more no less.

Anyways, I should be in bed.
You meant nothing more than $500, right?

Jom 03-08-2005 09:32 AM

Shred Danson 03-08-2005 09:41 AM

Morning, bitches.

superpeer 03-08-2005 09:44 AM

I'll rep the winner or something.

Shred Danson 03-08-2005 09:45 AM

Haha, rep.

Jom 03-08-2005 09:50 AM

Heh, I was just thinking that.

Bartender 03-08-2005 10:03 AM

Slow day, eh.

Well I haven't done much, so I don't know how much I can help. I learnt all about some guy called Donald Davidson, and that the argument of his we're studying is crap. And I bought some CDs from HMV, in their sale. And that's been about it.

Vampyre de Mort 03-08-2005 10:03 AM

****, my avatar is stil the LPU thingy./

LPU?

Bartender 03-08-2005 10:07 AM
Which CD's?
Four that were in the cheap sale;
Talking Heads - More Songs About Buildings and Food
Iron Maiden - Hallowed Be Thy Name
Iron Maiden - Seventh Son of a Seventh Son
Mike Oldfield - Tubular Bells

And one that wasn't so much in the sale;
Jesu - Jesu

superpeer 03-08-2005 10:11 AM

Ah Oldfield, good stuff. Talking heads can be good as well.

I haven't heard Jesu, what's that.

Bartender 03-08-2005 10:16 AM

The Talking Heads album is in the process of amazing me, actually. I thought it would be good, but not this good. And it only cost me £5, so I'm happy.

Jesu is the new project of the main guy behind Godflesh. Justin Broadick or Broadrick or something, I think he's called. It's really, really heavy, but not metal. Haven't had time to decide if I like it yet, though.

superpeer 03-08-2005 10:19 AM

I borrowed Tiger Army's self titled actually. It's also very good.

Bartender 03-08-2005 10:20 AM

Is any of it as good as that song you were obsessed with?

Jom 03-08-2005 10:21 AM

I interrupt this mod-exclusive conversation to make an announcement:

Carry on.

Not at the moment, maybe after second listening. But good though, I love the dark atmosphere.
