So, anyone here into folk music?

And I mean REAL folk music. The Corries, Hamish Imlach, the Humblebums etc
Richard Thompson > all them

GurS 06-28-2006 06:17 AM

hmm.... well, you're entitled to your opinion :p

ever heard of Eric Bogle? foky, scottish guy who went to live in australia. as a lot of scottish musicians do (colin hay, the youngs (malcom & angus & the third brother, george I think))

I'm seeing him next month :D

Patrick O))) 06-28-2006 06:24 AM

Deftones > Eric Bogle

lol

His name rings a bell, but I'll have to check him out. He'll have to really really really go some to beat Thompson though. He can play guitar like nothing else.

Shame his custom guitar looks horrible :-\

GurS 06-28-2006 06:49 AM

Bogle's most famous song's called "the band played waltzing matilda", it's been covered by loads of people, Joan Baez and The Pogues included.

Yo yo Phill

I was called today by the careers center thingy majigger!
I find this strange seeing as I've never actaully given them my number....
I've had one meeting with the career woman when I was in school but that was when I was 15 :-/
Anyway, I've to phone back tomorrow.

I'm headed into Glasgow tomorrow anyway so I don't know if I'll have time to phone!!
>_>

Oh and I left my shopping at work AGAIN! >: (

Phill 06-28-2006 11:28 AM

You reply to me but never actually answer the question >_>

What do you want to do as a career then?

Mexican Bandito 06-28-2006 11:32 AM

Why yes, yes it does :o

I'm going to look for a big design to paint onto my wall and tidy up a bit probably.

The more sitting down the better - my feet are killing me.

ChodaBoy 06-28-2006 12:05 PM

Butler, Heywood was on BBC1 NW News!

Untitled 06-28-2006 12:07 PM

Wall designs are cool, i designed my bedroom the other day, its going to look so amazing when its done.

My mum dosnt understand why i want it done, because im moving out in a year, so she dosnt know why im spending my money on geting my room done.

But tbh, its been how it is for 3 years or so, and im sick of it.
