What's even worse than zeppelin n00bs are people who only dislike led zeppelin because of zeppelin n00bs.

And it's very obvious that anything that they "stole" was actually a greatly improoved version of the old one, atleast in my opinion.

Illmatic 08-12-2005 08:51 PM

stfu guys Led Zep is the best band ever cuz Plant is the best singer, bonham is the best drummer, page is the best guitarist, and jpj is the best bassist.

Take it to the Zeppelin thread, fanboy.

Um, no. Plant's lyrics were definitely sub-par.

BludgeonySteve 08-12-2005 09:22 PM

But his voice was great...

That guy knows nothing!

NP: Aqualung - Jethro Tull

Good album, yes?

Walrus Gumboot 08-12-2005 09:56 PM

I have yet to find Aqualung, I probably will though

NP: Stayin' Alive, Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack

No one is funnier than the BeeGees.

This soundtrack isn't supposed to make me laugh so much, but it does

Glitterati 08-12-2005 09:58 PM
Actually, out of all the regulars in this thread, Schyma and I are the only posters who don't like them. We have discussed the thieving music issue to death in here, and it doesn't really affect most of our opinions on them. We just don't like Zeppelin n00bs who believe that Led Zeppelin is the only good band out there.
Pretty much. I like a few songs, but never got into them like some people can...

np: Don't Fear The Reaper

That movie rocked...and the soundtrack had some good stuff, too.

Walrus Gumboot 08-12-2005 10:10 PM

I just remember that scene when he is walking down the street with a paint can, and then he picks up some woman in a club, and then I turned the channel. My favorite soundtracks would have to be Almost Famous, Forrest Gump or of course, Wayne's World

Really? That seems to be one of the most common classic rock CD's around here.

Lunch, I have high expectations for that album. The Family That Plays Together is pure greatness.

Oh, and do you have John Barleycorn Must Die?

I'd say you should like the Spirit s/t, maybe not as much as The Family That Plays Together, but it's still good.

And yes, I have JBMD.

i care, but i was at work.

he'll probably devote a lot of the show to his "soundscapes" though. itll still be a great experience.

jpj 08-12-2005 11:22 PM

There's a very small part of Taurus that sounds like Stairway, but I don't think it's enough to say Page stole it. Just coincidence, there are plenty of songs that have similar parts, it happens.

Illmatic 08-12-2005 11:25 PM

Speaking of Spirit, that song "Fresh Garbage" is pretty good.

Lunch 08-12-2005 11:27 PM

It is very concievable that Page did lift a bit from Taurus, because early on Led Zeppelin sometimes covered Fresh Garbage live. Jimmy was clearly familiar with Spirit's first album.

MBS 08-13-2005 12:35 AM

My internet is so amazingly fast right now, I just told Magicbus before he went to sleep.

I'm downloading as much as I can because chances are once my computer goes off, the fast internet goes away too. I'm downloading Jeff Buckley's Grace, then Eric Clapton Unplugged, then I'll probably download Greendale.

Why can't we just close this conversation? Huh? Nobody really cares if he stole Stairway from another song cause you can't prove that. And as jpj says, there are PLENTY of songs sounding the same way. But does anyone argue about them? NO. Everybody know by now that Jimmy Page has stolen a few songs. So can you PLEASE stop arguing about it cause nobody really cares!
