Speaking of jobs, I was working for the government last summer. Alas, the survey is over and I'm no longer needed. However, I hear they're looking to work with me once more... no complaints here, it's good money.

And for everyone who thought 'Peer was hit by a car... bodies don't make a "sploosh" sound.

I knew something was going to be amiss when I saw Med's profile and then him linking to mine, but I didn't expect a 700 x 700 photo of a manatee to be there, hahaha.
Dugongs. They are called Dugongs.

Did you get them for police brutality?

superpeer 11-02-2005 04:48 PM

Haha, I didn't get hit by the car, but by water and mud. Jake got it because he lives in the same area of the world, where the weather is crap. :p

You guys need to watch less gore films if you think SPLOOSH means a lot of blood flying around.

I knew what you meant, I'm just a smartass. :) The weather hasn't been the greatest here either.
Not if it's a busy, noisy bar.
It technically wasn't a bar I guess. It was for a large party, but all we did was pre-pour drinks and let people grab them off the table. It was busy as hell though, which made it hard to keep up with.
pfft, fun? I hate working. Even if it is easy work, I just hate it.
I know the feeling. Even when I do get to do something easy, it's still work. I hate it mostly because I loath each and every single one of my co-workers with an unfathomable, impenetrable flame deep within my soul. No one man was meant to hate a fellow human as I have.
Any of various herbivorous aquatic mammals of the genus Trichechus, having paddlelike front flippers and a horizontally flattened tail and found in warm coastal waters of Florida, northern South America, West Africa, and the Caribbean.
Riva 11-02-2005 05:01 PM

No, Jom's picture is of a dugong. Manatees, it appears, are a different species, but they are also completely different in appearance. And my misspelling must be a local thing.

Yet my picture is definitely of a manatee taken from a government site, and not some second-rate shlock of a site from Geocities or something.

I'm sorry, but the manatee has a pronounced snout, and the limbs are more arm like.

The paddle-like limbs and reduced snout on your profile picture lends me to believe that it is indeed a dugong.

Like I expected and as the dictionary quote implied, the dugong is a kind of manatee.

KTHX
