Lawl. The musicman met an unfortunate demise a few months back. But I'm still rocking the warwick/peavey combo and ovation guitar for about two years now.

The warwick is termnial though. The neck is just beyond destroyed. It has to be setup every couple of days, tuned everytime I pick it up. I ended up deciding on a MTD Kingston z-6 after a half a dozen visits to the perfect bass in Baton Rouge. Still saving up though...

Hey.

Ok, I got confirmation that the python was real, not just me losing my marbles. I've decided to name it Snacks, and it lives in the glass display case in my kitchen now.

Think I've got a sale on my Conklin. Winner. Slightly lower than I wanted to sell for, but it needs to shift.

I have a gig on Friday and another on Saturday. Unfortunately, I only have my 6-space rack and all 6-spaces are completely filled until I can get an 8-space. Will my amp be able to handle the heat of two 1-hour sets and the 6 hour rehearsal before that?

Yes. But this is coming from someone who doesn't really have a clue about any of this "rack" stuff. My combo is still more than enough.

Are you guys prepared to be playing live, unlike that guy who went to play an hour set without a single song?

fatbandit 07-08-2009 03:39 PM

Yes it will. Amps are designed to get hot. Unless you have a badly designed amp. I have 3U worth of gear, and a 3U case that only just fits it depthwise. I never have ANY problems regardless of how long it has been on.

I would never go to a gig as an unprepared band like that.

I'm actually temping for a fairly established local band around here (Midnight Aurora). While I'm not totally prepared, the drummer thinks I can improv pretty well and told me that I should just learn the basics and improv the rest on stage. I'm hoping this will get me an "in" with the band and club owners so that my band (Sons of Marsyas) will be able to hop on a bill with them and gain publicity.

Good to know. My Carvin doesn't work in a rack that well because it has side vents (who designed that sh*t?!)

Also, do I need to pull your TB ad?

BenJammin 07-08-2009 04:59 PM

Sup britches?

I nearly got blinded in my right eye last night.

Spaceman Spiff 07-08-2009 05:38 PM

That's weird, because last night my left eye gained super-sight.

fatbandit 07-08-2009 05:41 PM

Don't pull it yet, I haven't finalised a sale. But its looking that way.
That's weird, because last night my left eye gained super-sight.
Huh.

I was stay at a chalet with a couple of friends, and some people were shooting fireworks. One went overhead and a part of the ash came down and burned my eyelid fairly well. If it had been a cm lower, it would have been right in my eye.

Spaceman Spiff 07-08-2009 06:26 PM

Damn. That's messed up.
Dave,

As Andrew's legal counsel, I'm afraid it is not in his best interest to retract his former statement. It is a well-known fact that Nas is not gay, but Kanye West is. Proof:

- Kanye likes fishsticks.

Public accusations as such can lead to tedious periods of litigation and law suits for slander and libel.

Thank you for voicing your concerns, however, Mr. Andrew and I must formally decline your request.

Regards,

Joe
Joe,

Thank you for your prompt reply. While I cannot disagree with you on the grounds that Kanye West enjoys fishsticks I must still point out that my previous objection to Mr. Andrew's post remains.

I am very aware of the strenuous and tedious litigation process resulting from slander and libel and I can assure you that this is not something I am afraid of.

I kindly ask again that Mr. Andrew retract his statement.

Kindest Regards,

Dave

Scott01 07-08-2009 07:58 PM

wut?

Spaceman Spiff 07-08-2009 08:16 PM

"Do you like fishsticks?"

"LOVE 'EM!"

FunkMetalBass 07-09-2009 03:27 PM

Just picked up my crossover for my rack and I see an 8-space on craigslist for a good price, so my rack is 99% complete. I also just got a Wasabi delay pedal used at Guitar Center for $50. I'm excited. I really need a way to power all these pedals so I can start trying to integrate them.

Anyone else think delay on a walking bassline would sound sweet?

Electric Requiem 07-09-2009 04:48 PM

Finally got a strap for my Corvette, a nice 3.5" padded neoprene Levy's one.
I am very happy, it is extremely comfortable.
