Roger is not bitter much at all anymore, but he does go off on tangents, he is very political, and despises war, and out of the blue, he will be off on a tirade and getting all worked up and out of sorts, and he is quite scary when he does that. Then a moment later he is very quiet and docile, but the few times I have met and spoken to him at length I do sense a lot of deep hidden rage.
He also play a mean game of Billiards (pool) and he is an avid hunter. I wonder if he imagines Dave as his prey at times.lol

Yes 3 times, and a few members of his current touring band.
I was to his house in the Hampton's a number of years ago.
He is quite unnaffected by his weath and fame, a very regular guy, well sort of.lol

OMG don't even mention Margaret around him, he will start throwing furniture.
The reason he moved to the US is because the UK was taking 60-70% of his earnings at one time. He still keeps a house there, but claims the US as his residency.

Honestly, he is a very good pool player. I never won a game out of 5 games. I thought I was pretty good to playing in bars most of my life, but he does all those bank shots.

Heh, I seem to remember either Pink Floyd or another popular British band having problems with tax whilst recording their new album, resulting in one of the members having to fly from the US to London and record the album within a time-frame of 48 hours to avoid a huge tax.

Led Zeppelin had a lot of problems with that I think.

Hrm, but the band I heard that about wasn't them. It might have been in the liner notes, I think, so I'll check all my Floyd albums first.

Last year, he got on our band forum for a few months, which was way cool, but I think he was getting bombarded by a lot of our members and he kind of backed off. Not sure if he come on a forum this big, imagine the questions huh?

Pink Floyd had to record one of their albums in France or something because of taxes. I dont remember exactly, but its in [I]Inside Out.[/I]

It wasn't [I]Animals[/I] or [I]Wish You Were Here[/I]. WYWH was recorded at Abbey Road and [I]Animals[/I] at Britannia Row, both in England, if I remember correctly.

Hmm, oh well. The point being something happened somewhere at sometime.

It was the Wall. The companies they invested in fell through or something and they needed to make a year's worth of wages tax free. So they recorded the whole record in France.

I saw Roger Waters in concert last night. It was unbelievable. Its something I will never forget. And I couldn't believe his voice, it was spot on like the albums I never suspected that. And he played Leaving Beirut I had never heard the song before but it really got to me. The kindness that family showed to him was more than I have ever seen from a westerner and yet they are the ones getting bombed, it was quite sad really.

As for that guy that met Roger, how did you meet him?

He had a background movie for it as well, in the form of a comic. It was really good to watch. Ive never cried or anything during a song(and I certainly wasn't about to in a public place) but I actually got pretty choked up in that song. I do with every anti-war song Roger has written.
