Do you recommend i go buy that album right now?

illuminati 12-31-2004 05:51 AM

holy sh*t yes, Radio Dept are amazing.
Do you recommend i go buy that album right now?
I know for a fact that you like My Bloody Valentine and I'm sure I've seen you say that you like Jesus and Mary Chain. That's incentive enough to buy it I'd say. It's definitely a special album, I'd put it in the top 10 of the year for sure.

I just got back from my new years thing. I went out for coffee and to watch fireworks with one of my best friends, two other really good friends and this other girl who i didn't know but she was really nice. It was great. It's now 10:40 PM and my parents still aren't home. It's kinda lame how they only have 9:00 fireworks and not midnight ones. Oh well.
I'm reading Catch-22 right now, after having just finished "Slaughterhouse-Five" by Kurt Vonnegut. Vonnegut's a good author; very unorthodox.
Holy crap. I just finished readin that too, and I'm reading Catch 22 now. Yeah I love Vonnegut, Breakfast Of Champions is amazing. :thumb:

Luxor 12-31-2004 10:35 AM

Well_Respected_Man 12-31-2004 08:21 PM

I'm considering classifing my new Fugazi review as "Awesome Core".

Happymeal 12-31-2004 08:21 PM
I just realized how much The Marble Index ripped off MC5... They suck pretty bad, just thought I'd say that.
It's good that I never bothered to check them out.

Well_Respected_Man 12-31-2004 09:56 PM

Wow, I just wrote this little emo poem like 10 minutes ago when I felt like I was going to kill myself and I feel alot better, wOOt!

Tangy zizzle 12-31-2004 11:45 PM

???

Tapeworm 12-31-2004 11:48 PM

Woah man, the power of literature, eh?

Wanna hear a story? No? cool.

I got mugged and beaten up last night. Good times.

Tangy zizzle 12-31-2004 11:50 PM

Ah, the joys of a drunken new years eve.

What'd you do Tapey?

Tapeworm 12-31-2004 11:59 PM

Umm, I drank a lot and then went out to the pub, had a few cigarettes, and a jug of mojo. Around midnight I messaged my almost girlfriend and then she rang me and we talked for ages which was great.

Was already wasted, my friend offered to split a jug of Tooheys, and I agreed. Felt like crap, left, threw up. Tried to call a taxi, couldn't get one, walked home. Got mugged and beaten up for cigarettes. They stole my phone, lay unconscious in a park until my friend happened to drive past and picked me up. Went to police, went to hospital, Dad picked me up. Went to bed.

You?

Tangy zizzle 01-01-2005 01:17 AM

Got trolleyed at a mates place at the beach, went walkin around, smoked a lot, took some herbal pills, got the drys, havn't slept.

Zmev 01-01-2005 02:41 AM

Hehe, I just jogged around the block and then some in my underpants yelling "NO MORE PANTS! NO MORE SHIRTS!" among other loud noises

Happy ****in' new year r/m..err..a/y...a/i bah :chgu:

br3ad_man 01-01-2005 03:41 AM

Zmev 01-01-2005 04:25 AM

Iai 01-01-2005 09:41 AM

Nice.

Iai 01-01-2005 09:44 AM

So, I spent New Year's getting horribly, horribly wankered in my local pub, and then my local rock nightclub.

I saw my ex-girlfriend for the first time in 6 months. She's heavily pregnant.

I don't think it's mine....

Had a fairly big falling-out/sort-of-making-up session with mixtape girl before I went out too.

Eeeek hope everything works out.

Well my New Year's was spent round my mates, just 4 of us which was quite fun. Watched a couple of films - 40 days and 40 nights (great) and Con Air but I fell asleep during that.

Tomahawk 01-01-2005 10:00 AM

New Years was kinda disappointing, but fun. Having to work the next day was not fun, but I'm a trooper. Yeah.

I went to Melbourne and drank many things and saw fireworks and saw the Cat Empire and then went to shitty places with shitty music except one place played Love Will Tear Us Apart and I was very excited but then I got kicked out (possibly for trying to dance like Ian Curtis, I'm not sure). Other stuff happened too. The End.

And right now my brain is spazzed out because somebody I sort of knew died and it's extremely fucking tragic. I mean, I just barely knew them, and I dunno if it's just because I'm tired or what, but it's really messed with my head.

Iai 01-01-2005 10:02 AM

My club played Interpol, Bloc Party, Futureheads, The Smiths, The Cure, Radiohead, and Jeff Buckley. In a row. :p

Tomahawk 01-01-2005 10:09 AM

What the hell? Was the DJ taken hostage? By guerilla soldiers with good taste in music?

I want good music clubs. :upset: As it is I just have to cling to the hope that the next song will be Gwen Stefani.

Iai 01-01-2005 10:11 AM

Nah, we just have a lot of indie kids where I live.

liek me lolz

incubliss 01-01-2005 10:31 AM

i had a really fun New Years.

when to this pub down by the beach, listened to two rather excellent bands, one playing jazzy hits, and another playing just some really fun alt/rock songs, like

Razorlight - Vice
Kings of Leon - Mollys Chambers
The Datsuns - Harmonic Generator

to name a few. stayed out till about 4 in the morning, talking to this guy about travelling, and photography, he was cool. he let me try out his amazing Canon E0S D-SLR camera, and it was the sh*t.

Happymeal 01-01-2005 10:38 AM

Happy new year:wave:

My family had a reunion last night. Watched some home videos and Open Water. Its the most pointless movie EVER.
