Deltron3030>De la Soul>Jedi Mind Tricks>Sage Francis
I agree, although De la Soul is excellent I don't even like considering Sage Francis a part of hip-hop. |
No more of that man. He is deleated off these boards.
|
To Sage Francis.
WHATTT. Please tell me it's "Crossroads." Could you IM me both of those at DFelon204409? Or I'm on slsk under the same name.
I have neither on my PC. The song that Five Fams does is For the Love of Money. I wish it was Crossroads. They haven't recorded it yet, though. It's gonna be on their upcoming EP. When I get it, I'll send it to those who want it. |

I don't even like considering Sage Francis a part of hip-hop.
I'm waiting for chopped and screwed to catch on. I realize the forums are just catching on to rap and are in the 'intellectual' phase of it, but ****, once they get Slim Thug's Already Platinum, that blows everything out of the water. (I still love Aesop Rock and Del and Jedi and Binary Star and Talib and all that, but mang, I love being hit by the mollasses [sp?]) |
NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SSSPPPPPIIIRIIIIIIITTTTTTUUAALLLL SSSSSUUUUUUUUREEEENNNNDDDDDEEEEEEERRRRRR
Best song ever. |
Inside Out were so fucking great, they'd be legendary if they released some more music. Their unreleased songs are amazing.

I think it all sucks. I'll stick to the "intellectual" stuff, thank you. Oh, and I'm no where near barely catching on to hip-hop, and the only good rap was old school gangsta rap. Death row is the label that paays me. |
I reckon Inside Out might be better than RATM if they'd released more music.

Seriously, chopped and screwed stuff is the worst. Its like having a retard DJ and repeat and slow down ****. Check out Brotha Lynch Hung. I'll send you some this week J. |
Basically these southern rappers rerelease their album and make it sound slower and add ****ty noises to it etc. Its basically just a way to make more money.

I'm in a hip-hop group called G-Clamp and The Special Sauce.
50 ain't got nothing on G-Clamp. |
See what everybody doesn't know is that Pat is actually black but puts on the disguise of a white guy everyday so he won't be brought down by the man.
there is no way that he could fake that pretty hair |
Best hardcore song of all time not originally hardcore?
Shai Hulud - "Linoleum" I think it would be the best if they didn't lift the breakdown from "Hardly" and put it at the end of the song.
their cover of anesthesia was better I think. I saw countdown to life, and they covered Bob. It may have sucked, but I was so stoked I wouldn't have noticed. |
I love NOFX. Most of their stuff anyway.
As in Mike Jones and the other Houston rappers?
exactly. it's a houston thing, so TXHC is all over it, and it's soo annoying. I'll stick to jamming out to Hellhammer and Mercyful Fate. :naughty: |

I'll stick to jamming out to Hellhammer and Mercyful Fate. :naughty:
Not just Houston rappers do it though. Three 6 Mafia did one, Paul Wall, etc. And on that note, Paul Wall chopped and screwed a Transplants album. |
I hate The Transplants so much.
The knowledge that they exist is a burden upon my soul. |
I doubt any of you care, but Beecher split up.

I'll stick to jamming out to Hellhammer and Mercyful Fate. :naughty:
Mercyful Fate own. But Hellhammer Celtic Frost puts Hellhammer to shame since all Hellhammer was doing was ripping off of Venom. |

Paul Wall is from Houston |
You guys suck at freestyling. My best work was as the alien on b9, but here goes...
Ready for war, bacon bits scatterd about Mods runnin round all over, Nick gets caught cause he's stout Layin down the smack with the hardcore pride Hold it down, set if off, protest and survive Now the grease has come around And you can't eat this type Your punk ass is going down BACON BITS CREW FOR LIFE UH |
As in Mike Jones and the other Houston rappers?
To an extent, but you shouldn't judge it based on Mike Jones. He really isn't that good. Already Platinum (Slim Thug) is good and if you can download lots of DJ Screw's records, it's a better representation. But yes, you can think of it as Khanate or Sunn O))) meets the dirty souf. |
Being from TX, everyone in our hc scene loves that chopped and screwed bullshit, but I honestly can't stand it. I think it all sucks. I'll stick to the "intellectual" stuff, thank you.
Oh, and I'm no where near barely catching on to hip-hop, and the only good rap was old school gangsta rap. Death row is the label that paays me.
I love gangsta rap. NWA and Wu Tang are among my favourites in rap and Wu Tang is a favourite of all time. But this is what's wrong with 'smart' rap. You get people who feel superiour simply because they're artist of choice has 'meaning'. They can't ever just get down to something because dang yo, that's misogynistic right there, etc. I ain't saying you're like that, but the thank you at the end surely gives off that air. And yeah, I realize people here listen to Three Six, before you bust my balls about actually liking rap that isn't all about intellectual lyricism. |
I really don't see the appeal of mainstream rap. Most of it has shitty flow, shitty lyrics, and shitty beats. Recently, mostly because of Pat, I've been getting into more rap. GZA, Jedi Mind Tricks, Wu-Tang, Talib Kweli, etc. Also, listening to more Del and Technique. Shit r00lz.

My personal favourite is Jedi Mind Tricks.
