Jaundice 10-30-2009 04:31 AM

have you heard the song in question

it's rawer than weezer

Anthracks 10-30-2009 04:33 AM

deeds of flash - path of the weakening

Meatplow 10-30-2009 04:33 AM

idk how raw weezer can get but it's such a hipster adored album i've tried my best to avoid it :(

DBlitz 10-30-2009 04:34 AM

the "****" was at how huge meatplow's image was

Meatplow 10-30-2009 04:35 AM

haha yeah i didn't realise how big the image sitting in the album folder was so I shrunk it
it's the most hipster-adored album ever, yeah

i've never cared for most of the record but you need to listen to the title track

i play around and exaggerate a lot but no jokes when i say that it's the single greatest song of all time

i'm listening to it on youtube, this is actually pretty good

Jaundice 10-30-2009 04:40 AM

let the record show that i've never listened to it without bursting into tears almost immediately

Meatplow 10-30-2009 04:44 AM

I do that with some Nick Cave songs

aww man I gotta get another copy of The Good Son. horrible video, but Blixa from EN is singing there lol

what really, its like a really happy song

two headed boy part 2 makes me tear up though

Jaundice 10-30-2009 04:46 AM

chill album haz, talking heads are one of my favorites

if u want to get into Neutral Milk I'd recommend their first album (On Avery Island.) It doesn't have quite the hipster status and it's full of experimental folk goodness

Anthracks 10-30-2009 04:47 AM

i cry tears of semen to oh comely
what really, its like a really happy song

two headed boy part 2 makes me tear up though
Sad songs don't get to me ever. but overbearingly happy songs just kill me for some reason

probably explains why i think joy division is fun party music and yet weezer sends me into suicidal depressions

yeah this album is flawless from start to finish to me

I might begrudgingly check them out, I avoided stuff like Merriweather Post Pavilion because of hype but y'know I did like that quite a bit

also that fat guy who does analogue electronics I forgot his name really happy stuff Dan Deacon that's it

Jaundice 10-30-2009 04:51 AM

it's probably my least favorite Talking Heads i've heard , but that doesn't make it bad at all

Talking Heads '77 would be my pick for flawlessness

i avoid a lot of stuff because of indie hype but it's good to take a risk every now and then. i discovered neutral milk hotel before that though, i got into them when i actually tried to go after hipster-adored things

Meatplow 10-30-2009 04:53 AM

yeah I should get more Talking Heads

this album is a undeniable favourite though. It shares a lot in common with King Crimson's Discipline to me.

Jaundice 10-30-2009 04:54 AM

everyone needs more talking heads

i only have remain in light, '77 and fear of music

i like to thinnk of myself as the new david byrne tbh

Meatplow 10-30-2009 05:03 AM
