Neil Young- Greendale (2003)
hxxp://s40.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=30V831CX0EW891NPHRYOHQN799 This is sort of a concept album, so it would be best if you knew that it depicts the story of the Green family in Greendale, California, a fictional family and a fictional town. Characters include Grandma, Grandpa, Edith, Earl (parents) Sun and Jed (kids) Everything is peaceful until Jed panics and kills a cop (Carmichael), with a dashboard full of cocaine and a trunk full of weed when all hell breaks loose and the media ensues to harass the family (It is hard to tell from listening and or watching to pick up the fact that Jet was supplying a woman named Lenore with cocaine, who was supplying Carmichael) It's really a statement about post-9/11 America, topics cover Traditional values, the media, drugs, the environment, the current white house administration, growing up, and the environment I really like it |
Any opinions on that bootleg jpj?
Elton John's Goodbye Yellowbrick Road is a great album.
agreed, most of Elton John's music is great. |
We don't discuss Queen much do we?
I'm listening to Don't Stop Me Now. It's cool how it starts out all slow then just speeds up. |

Maybe not though |

Yea , my mom listened to it growin up and i really thought it was too soft for me , but one of my friends startin likin him and i sit down and lisitened , and it aint that bad. |
Not a very big fan of Elton John, to be quite honest :-\ but has anyone seen William Shatner's "performance" of "Rocket Man"? My friend showed it to me last year and it was funny as hell.
I do like Queen, though. No one knows how to combine camp with a good hook like they do. |

I have never heard him sing before. |
I have never heard him sing before.
He doesn't sing, per se (well, maybe he does now, but he didn't in the 60's), he does spoken-word renditions of songs ("Mr. Tambourine Man", "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds", and "Rocket Man" being the most famous examples) that are so jaw-droppingly awful that they are actually hilarious. One of my good friends introduced me to them last year and I think they're so bad they're good. Queen were pop geniuses, I think. |

The Allman Brothers Band.
|
My dad was telling me an interesting story today:
May aunt Willi's friends in the 60's pulled a band together and let out an album to raise money to pay for their friend's (Gary Higgins) legal fees (he got busted for Red Hash, which in turn was the name of the album) The album was big locally in the early 70's, and it eventually died down and fell into history. Recently Gary got a call from some record company that wanted to buy the rights to the album because it is gaining popularity in Europe. One of the members is a doctor, and is going to take a break from that to be a rock star  They are going to start their European tour going soon |
The Allman Brothers Band.
Great band in my opinion , but i like southern rock a pretty good bit. |
That's pretty cool, actually...have you heard about my granddad?
|
Theres only one local band where i live , a little band called sly willie down , they are pretty much heavy metal though.
