as in listen to Om now? the only reason i don't fully understand is that that came out of nowhere :)

ATM 12-04-2007 06:31 PM

Downloading Sourvein's Will to Mangle:

[i] The band's first offering for Southern Lord, Will to Mangle, was recorded and produced in San Francisco with high priest Billy Anderson (reknowned producer of Melvins, Eyehategod, Sleep, High on Fire, Neurosis etc..) at the helm. 2002 and beyond will find Sourvein taking their southern fried blackened assault all over the globe.
is that album really good? My friend has it and I've never listen to it.
I like it... plus it's just worth it because it's even BEFORE Sleep. Yeah it's good. It's really short as well, so it's not like you're gonna be wasting time if you get it and don't like it...

Eliminator 12-04-2007 08:16 PM

getting sonic prayer by earthless

should be good
yeah.

Txus 12-04-2007 08:17 PM

Nickfag: That's a great album dude.

yay someone called me by my name other than steve, robbie and rattle.

can we talk about Katatonia in this thread? I've only got two albums by them but they're both ****ing incredible and I'm definitely planning on getting more.

Angmar 12-04-2007 09:25 PM

Yes, Katatonia, amazing band.

Eliminator 12-04-2007 09:26 PM

that earthless album was cool but like
i felt like i was stuck in a 40 minute guitar solo or something

NemesisDivina 12-04-2007 09:26 PM

Wow Steve, for owning all their full lengths, I would expect a more insightful post...

NP: Evidence

Txus 12-04-2007 09:28 PM

I'm listening to Sir Richard Bishop and I can't stop...I think I'll listen to that album tomorrow, but I'll post my thoughts :)

ATM 12-04-2007 09:29 PM

What are Katatonia like? I've never heard.

Txus 12-04-2007 09:30 PM

WHAAAAAAAAT? I hope that's a joke

Angmar 12-04-2007 09:30 PM
Wow Steve, for owning all their full lengths, I would expect a more insightful post...

NP: Evidence
Well.... DoDS is my favorite album by them, followed by Viva Emptiness. Also the Great Cold Distance is really good, and Brave Murder Day is good as well, but has some boring parts.

Jonas's harsh vocals>Mikaels'

ATM 12-04-2007 09:31 PM

No joke, but keep in mind I've only been listening to metal for a short while.

Txus 12-04-2007 09:31 PM

Viva Emptiness is their best.

Chris: I'll send you a couple of albums to your last.fm shoutbox :)

NemesisDivina 12-04-2007 09:32 PM
What are Katatonia like? I've never heard.
pure ****ing ownage. they'll rip your face off, sew it back on and rip you to pieces...

...not exaggerating

Angmar 12-04-2007 09:32 PM

Yeah, start with Viva Emptiness or The Great Cold Distance, if you're looking for some really harsh doom stuff then get Dance of December Souls.
