The red paintings are from Brissy. I wish there were from Adelaide then I would see them all of the time.
I think he means their gear was stolen in Adelaide...
I think he means their gear was stolen in Adelaide...
This is correct. I'm well aware of where The Red Paintings are from.

Also, I just wanted to set up that little stab at Riva's favourite AFL team.

ATM 02-28-2007 06:48 AM

I'm going to come study in Australia, guys.

Riva 02-28-2007 06:50 AM

Hell yes. Where you planning on coming?

ATM 02-28-2007 06:54 AM

I have no idea, but I am studying anthroplogy and I am making it a point to make it out there as soon as I can and study. Such a wealth of culture there.

blueyxd 02-28-2007 06:57 AM

There's usually some American exchange students on field trips and they are generally ok. One guy had two counter meals from the pub one night...

Also, I added some songs to a playlist on my last fm page
http://www.last.fm/user/Blueser57/
Please have a listen to the first song: Season - Throw Me To The Sky in all it's ambient beauty

ATM 02-28-2007 06:59 AM

Well, I'm a lot cooler then those people :-D

Riva 02-28-2007 07:04 AM

Yes, you are. If you're interested in Aboriginal culture, definitely consider JCU (shameless plug) since it's got a very developed anthropology/archaeology department.

ATM 02-28-2007 07:05 AM

What's the full name of JCU?

Riva 02-28-2007 07:09 AM

James Cook University. It has two main campuses, one in Cairns, one in Townsville.

It's a fairly good University, not huge like the ones further south, but very high-quality. For example, the Economic Geology school is one of the top 5 in the world.

ATM 02-28-2007 07:10 AM

Sounds cool. I'd love to study Aboriginal culture. I'll keep the name in mind.

blueyxd 02-28-2007 07:20 AM

JCU is also well known for Marine Science.. I should have gone there if I knew I was going to be interested in that...

Riva 02-28-2007 07:21 AM

Yah, you could have studied with Dr Jamie, he's a classic. And the world's leading authority on jellyfish.

Transient 02-28-2007 07:41 AM

Go to UWA (University of Western Australia). If you start next year, you'll be a first year with me. If I get in. Which I hope I will. :/

Riva 02-28-2007 07:43 AM

I might be doing my honors at UWA.

Transient 02-28-2007 07:45 AM

Sweet. When will this be?

Riva 02-28-2007 07:47 AM

Next year. We'll see. I'll be moving there for a year to work, at least.

superpeer 02-28-2007 07:48 AM

Haha, also the world's only? Jellyfish \m/

Oh right. WA's pretty boring though. Nothing ever happens.

Riva 02-28-2007 07:52 AM

My girlfriend studies there. :p

EDIT: Jellyfish are the centre of a massive field of study, Jelle.

Transient 02-28-2007 07:54 AM

Oh, cool. I'm not even sure if I'll get into what I want (med). Sputnikmusic is srsly messing with my chances of getting a high TER.

Ugh, I have to study for an in class essay tomorrow and I cbf.

Riva 02-28-2007 07:58 AM

I got into med school at Townsville JCU but pulled out at the last minute.

Transient 02-28-2007 08:01 AM

Why? :/

And I'm gonna go to bed. School photo's tomorrow and I need to look my handsome best. Or not.

Also, long weekends are sexual.

Riva 02-28-2007 08:04 AM

I didn't want to get the medschool pregnant.

I'm happier doing Industrial Chem/Geology/Metallurgy anyway.

Transient 02-28-2007 08:06 AM

My main motivation for med is House/Scrubs.

I have a feeling I'm going to be extremely disappointed.

Riva 02-28-2007 08:14 AM

Wow dude, you really, really are. You have to want to help people and really have the urge to be a doctor. My friend has that drive and she loves it, but so many people drop out. And you have to pass the interview (if there is one) and the people interviewing you will be able to pick up on any hesitation or lack of motivation like that.
