When did new S&Lers get so sassy

You kids need to stop taking everything so seriously or you'll start to get decent crits and have a seizure
I usually don't take things too seriously. But i felt your manner was a tad cold but i am new here and i obviously don't know your personality so didn't know you were not being serious.

Surf 11-02-2006 02:02 PM

well to be fair, everything you asked was in the stickied threads at the top of the page, its probably more the other guy.

he posted lyrics with a debatably plagurised verse, and it got closed. so he posted it again, and it got closed. then he started arguing with burt and came across as a bit of a retard.

SubtleDagger 11-02-2006 02:04 PM

Boo hoo people are being cold on the internet cry me a river

You guys need to understand that when I close your threads and shoot down your ideas I care so little that I forget in like a couple minutes, making a big deal out of it only ends up irritating me since I have to keep reiterating myself. It seriously doesn't matter to me in the slightest if you make a bad thread because it takes me two seconds to close it, it's when you keep bringing it up that it gets annoying

Rightio whatever. Ive lost interest now. Ive registered to talk about music and my interest in it and wasn't expecting the reception i got just trying to be friendly thats all. Just never come across a moderator with such brilliant people skills as you. Please never get a job were you are required to interact with others.

Manners and civility a rarity of today.

Anyway back to music.

Surf 11-02-2006 02:14 PM

apathy on the internet ftw

I can appreciate that and i can understand the reasons for the thread being closed. Moderators have to keep the boards clean and monitor everything. Some moderators make a great first impression of the sort of community involved here.

Please for the love of God stop taking one closed thread and a suggestion to actually read the rules so seriously

Hey i was willing to put this to bed before. I only suggest a more friendly attitude towards other people, thats all. I'm not bothered about the thread being closed or being told to read the rules.

Anyway lets move on from this. Start a fresh.

Hi i'm Simon, i live in England and look forward to reading/posting some lyrics and getting other people's views and opinions on lyrics. ::chug:

Anyways

Sloth 11-02-2006 03:10 PM

Question:

Does anyone post in other writing forums?
For example, the UG forums?

SubtleDagger 11-02-2006 03:23 PM

I did a few things in UG with Jared before I realized that they wouldn't know a good piece of lyricism over there if it bit them in the ***

I was on an actual poetry board with Nick before I realized their standards are stupidly high and they overanalyze literally everything

In other words, never trust preople on S&L for other boards

thirdeyeblindislit 11-02-2006 03:38 PM

Wow, since I've been gone, I can see that not much has changed.

Nightvision 11-02-2006 04:02 PM

Yeah, I used to post on musesmuse, but it's more or less full of people from the deep South writing country songs. Anything else doesn't really get a look in, so I don't bother so much now.

To be honest, S&L forums tend to attract some weird types - at least this place the weirdos are ones I can relate to. :-*

I hear that. :thumb:

SiYmon 11-02-2006 04:45 PM

Just to clarify on a rule here. The rule is you cannot post more than 1 song a day. So if after posting a song and getting come feedback off other S&L people can i ammend my song whilst baring people's critisisms (sp) in mind and repost that in the same thread??

slack 11-02-2006 04:52 PM

Use the edit button.

SubtleDagger 11-02-2006 04:53 PM

If you need to change a song already posted use the edit button on the first post. Don't repost it anywhere

SiYmon 11-02-2006 05:09 PM

Oki doki taa.

TojesDolan 11-02-2006 05:44 PM

They're ridiculous in deviantart, for poetry. And everything else. fuggin' anime fans. :(

slack 11-02-2006 06:04 PM

Deviantart is pretty cool, but I've never checked out the poetry there.

I THINK THAT I MIGHT

TojesDolan 11-02-2006 06:23 PM

I have one piece up but I never really got comments.

FA 11-02-2006 08:05 PM

I put poetry on there but received barely anything so i quit doin it...

Surf 11-02-2006 08:51 PM

i post nowhere else. that is all.

TojesDolan 11-02-2006 09:20 PM

I'll just transfer all my material down there and see what happens.

TheBigMachine 11-03-2006 04:31 AM

Nah man deviantart is for art. I find that not alot of people take notice of anothers poetry unless you have extreme skills.

TojesDolan 11-03-2006 10:28 AM

my skills are 3xt43m3

On a related note, no one cares about art at deviantart. Unless you're exceptionally good.

Surf 11-03-2006 01:26 PM

i have never spent much time on deviantart. seems too big to provide an effecive community, bit too narcissistic for my liking.

slack 11-03-2006 01:28 PM

I noticeed a lot of the better artists were pulling their work because of a policy that allowed DeviantArt to use work without the artist's permission for promotional purposes.

Whatever. They're all just corporate crooks. Fight the power, guys. I mean srsly.

TheBigMachine 11-03-2006 04:47 PM

Fight the power man.

Still, I do enjoy browsing over Deviantart occasionally...

slack 11-03-2006 08:55 PM

I want a bigger avatar. This picture is too cool to be at 70x70.
