In Folk Punk We Crust

Are there any known folk grind bands?
I hope not. I don't think that would sound too good.

Feel The Darkness 11-30-2006 01:44 PM
That's a stretch, but I see where you're coming from.

Those guys are nuts. We played with them in backwoods-ass Ione, and after the show, they just stood in the backyard listening to the wolves howl for like an hour.
Well, it's not American Folk as most are used to, but they do incorporate some of that Native American shit in there.

Backed, folk punk sucks anyways.

DaveToopes 11-30-2006 04:15 PM

No way folk punk is awesome.

Feel The Darkness 11-30-2006 04:30 PM

The only folk punk I like is Las Cruces or Defiance, Ohio. Ghost Mice is okay, but I don't really like much else.

Flagjacket 11-30-2006 05:22 PM

Folk punk rules! I lvoe Definace, Ohio, some of the old AM! stuff, and Evan Greer.

Oh right Planit X.

whiteminority 11-30-2006 06:11 PM

Folk punk is boring.

AIRIC 11-30-2006 06:14 PM

I like some folk punk. Defiance, Ohio are awesome.
Folk punk is boring.
So Orchid if you listen to them too much. Variety is key.

Gnarmageddon 11-30-2006 06:34 PM

J, do you have a new screen name? I haven't seen you online in a while and I've been meaning to snag some stuff from you. >_>

AIRIC 11-30-2006 07:52 PM

Hey Andy do Graves At Sea have any more material? Documents of Grief is fucking sick.

DaveToopes 11-30-2006 08:22 PM

What are they like Eric?

AIRIC 11-30-2006 08:22 PM

yessir, it's xStruggleofLifex. Buddy list is still the same, so feel free to browse my Get File.

RetiredAt21 11-30-2006 09:19 PM

Graves At Sea f'ucking rule.

AIRIC 11-30-2006 10:00 PM

Yeah they're so awesome.

Subvert_bassist 12-01-2006 02:41 AM

Eric, you can get their split with Asunder from me. Look in my slsk files, under "splits". I also have a live album with a couple unreleased songs on it. Other than those two and Documents of Grief, there isn't anything else, unless they were featured on some unknown comp or some shit.

I've never found Orchid boring but they're also one of my favorite bands. I just have never been able to get anything out of any of the folk punk bands I have been suggested.

I like folk, I like punk, but I don't like them combined.

RetiredAt21 12-01-2006 11:58 AM

Folk punk is a fad.

Hahaha, yeah right. Shuddap.

Subvert_bassist 12-01-2006 06:28 PM

Music in general is a fad.

I could say the same about what you just said. There is absolutely no backing to either of our statements.

AIRIC 12-02-2006 03:30 AM

Anyone here like Crow? I downloaded it off that japanese blog posted in hardcore. It's pretty sweet. Jap crust kind of epic but not too much.

Gnarmageddon 12-02-2006 09:34 AM

Resistant Culture owns face.

I nabbed that, too. I have heard a few tracks from some past compilations, but I have yet to listen to the one from the blog.
Resistant Culture owns face.
yeah, they do.

World Burns To Death 12-02-2006 06:04 PM

whiteminority 12-02-2006 06:21 PM

I sincerely hope you get hit by a bus.

Crow is nuts. I saw them in Berkeley; it was THE most epic show I have ever been to. They spoke like no english; we tried to talk to them, but communication was hard. We stood there listening to Crow (the lead vox's name is Crow, too) say "Dot!" over and over before he was trying to tell us that he liked Ryan's Dirt shirt.
