Cable...luckyyy.

I finally convinced a friend of mine today that there's too much filler on the White Album..well, kind of. I said that it would've been so much better had they not made it a double album and she agreed, so yeah I think that means I convinced her.

The non filler songs are pure genious though. Rocky Raccon, Blackbird, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Helter Skelter, Happiness is a warm gun.

HazMan 01-14-2006 12:49 AM
Sure, Bonham was talented, but eccentric
He shoved a fish up a womans vagina. A snapper.

I'm loving ZZ Top big time right now, listening to their greatest hits. They write such good strut music.

Led Zeppelin 3 is finally warming up to me, i had Friends stuck in my head all last night at a party i went to.

gmoneyguy 01-14-2006 12:50 AM

I dont know why, but I just can't really get into ZZ Top.

MBS 01-14-2006 12:56 AM

Me neither. Only song I ever really liked was "Sharp Dressed Man".

Leper 01-14-2006 12:56 AM

I couldn't agree more. All filler aside, it's a masterpiece.

Illmatic 01-14-2006 01:04 AM
I couldn't agree more. All filler aside, it's a masterpiece.
That's a hell of a dubious distinction.

MBS 01-14-2006 01:18 AM
That's a hell of a dubious distinction.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. Isn't a masterpiece... perfect as is?

Leper 01-14-2006 01:26 AM

Well ok, maybe not masterpiece. Heh I didn't mean it was the god of all rock albums. Sometimes I get carried away with impressive sounding adjectives..but it would be pretty close to a masterpiece.

MBS 01-14-2006 01:33 AM

I agree with you in saying that it's a good album, aside from the amount of filler, but it's not exactly a masterpiece.

gmoneyguy 01-14-2006 01:37 AM

If you really think about it, nothing is quite a masterpeice. In non traditional music.

MBS 01-14-2006 01:49 AM
If you really think about it, nothing is quite a masterpeice. In non traditional music.
I think Dark Side of the Moon is really freakin' close to it, though.

Leper 01-14-2006 01:54 AM

Well none of us can call anything a masterpiece really, especially in music which is too subjective of a topic. But like I said, I just get carried away with my adjectives at times.:)

Phallus Dei 01-14-2006 01:59 AM
I think Dark Side of the Moon is really freakin' close to it, though.
/gags

I like MBV decent shoegazers, but their songs just sorta blend together I couldn't even tell you what my favorite song was. I don't know if I could name more then 4 songs and I own 2 albums and 2 EPs. :S

I have nothing to contribute, went to a show tonight it was pretty good. Saw some Devo covers. No Devo covering Stones covers though.

Exile On Main Street is a masterpiece! Damnit.
White Album eh, filler out weighs the good stuff. Give me Pep's.

Man I love beating dead horses.

Am I missing something, or did that have absolutely nothing to do with anything?
Am I missing something, or did that have absolutely nothing to do with anything?
Its a saying you silly man. You know like beating a joke dead? Beating my Stones to death as for my Pep's love up the ying yang.

I'm kinda sad, the girl I like (Actually we are just friends with benefits...) is smoking pot with some friends of mine :upset: It's emocore time.

PinkFreud 01-14-2006 02:15 AM

why don't you join them? that does suck though. it always seems to happen to me.

Phallus Dei 01-14-2006 02:18 AM

Well the last thing I want to do with her and them is smoke, they are very dirty and like raunchy, they probably just want to hang with her to see her boobys or something. We have been good friends for awhile and I just don't want to be around that. I'm really being quiet emo about it. I called her cell and heard "Hahahahahha" in a deep dumb stoned voice and I just hung up.
Ya, this is the thread I go to for L&R advice, or bitching.
Hm, any ways.

Leper 01-14-2006 02:28 AM

Alright so I was missing something. I'm too tired for the tom-foolery of this site.

I actually don't like D&TD drumming very much...

I forgot about that account.

Yeah, D&TD's drumming I never really noticed/listened to it and I can't verify because I dont have any of their music on my computer anymore.

Jom said our private mailing list in this thread is fine. So is the daily upload. They just want to get rid of all the mailing list threads on the first page.

Oh, cool. We would've kept doing it in here even if he said we couldn't because we stick it to the man.
ZZ Top is awesome. Coincidentally, I just heard La Grange coming home from a show tonight.
Besides Sharp Dressed Man, ZZ Top bores the hell out of me. They've got the AC/DC syndrom of every song sounding the same to the max. Their guitar work also gets really repetitive. To each his/her own, though.

TheDMV 01-14-2006 12:00 PM
Oh, cool. We would've kept doing it in here even if he said we couldn't because we stick it to the man.
Ya, that's what rock's about.

I don't mind some of ZZ Top's work, but they certainly are boring. La Grange is probably their best song.

jpj 01-14-2006 12:06 PM

ZZ Top is badass. You're all a bunch of pussies. Their stuff from the early 70's is classic blues-rock.

They aren't horrible, I just haven't heard much of their stuff.

RockAndRoll 01-14-2006 12:14 PM

I haven't listened to much of them but what I've heard is good. I was going to get to seee them this past sumemr at the hawk rocks the park festival, but I didn't end up getting to go. :(

Does anyone on here not have the last waltz?

That's what we did with YSI links, anyway.
Does anyone on here not have the last waltz?
I think I would hunt down and kill anyone who didn't.

How, how, how, how, how! I like La Grange. I don't own any albums but just about everyone one of my hick cousins do so I get to listen to them often.

I don't own the Last Waltz but I've seen it. Along time ago..

PinkFreud 01-14-2006 12:54 PM

i have the dvd AND the album. so. i win?

robo2448 01-14-2006 12:58 PM

I like ZZ Top. I have a greatest hits. Best driving music ever. I actually don't remember the last time I listened to them anywhere except in the car.

Livewired, did you get Gilmour tickets? I didn't, they sold out in 1 hour:angry:

I don't have The Last Waltz. Sorry.
