That sucks man.

I don't really have much to add except that I'll be getting my David Gilmour tickets this weekend when they go on sale. :)
WHAT!?!!? Dave Gilmour tickets?!?!? When? Where?

JonG 01-12-2006 08:14 AM

I don't have to go into school 'till 10. I have a lot of time in the morning now :)

I downloaded "Old Hands" by Yonder Mountain last night. It's pretty good so far.

clown_phobia 01-12-2006 10:21 AM

wow. John Lennon's God has just gotta be one of the greatest songs ever. That song is so emotional, every note rings to me. It speaks to me in so many ways.

Glitterati 01-12-2006 10:45 AM
considering you'd be resurrecting two people from the grave, wouldn't you?

and yes, the Beatles are Gods.
If they raised them from the grave and they were all decaying and stuff....oh god :upset:

PinkFreud 01-12-2006 11:00 AM

yeah that'd be gross to the point of being distracting from the music.

i can't quit smoking guys.

clown_phobia 01-12-2006 11:12 AM

Have you tried those patches?

JonG 01-12-2006 11:19 AM

Whew, just walked home 3 miles in about 40 minutes. I listened to some Revolver and some of American Beauty on my journey.

clown_phobia 01-12-2006 11:32 AM

They just help with withdrawls, they dont do anything about cravings or stress.

MidnightRider 01-12-2006 02:30 PM

My best friend tried to quit dipping with that nicorette stuff, but he said as soon as he stopped using it, he'd want one. I don't think it really works that well, and it's really expensive.

PinkFreud 01-12-2006 02:42 PM

it is extremely expensive. i have store brand stuff and it's 30 dollars a box. with 30 pieces. a dollar a piece?

Jetpack 01-12-2006 02:57 PM

damn, well seriously its hard i know but you'll thank yourself later... thankfully i've never smoked a cigarette, but my friends who have managed to quit all say they feel a lot better now.

if you like hte act of smoking, get a hookah, with actual mollasses tobacco and ****, and start tokin doobies haha

Lunch 01-12-2006 02:57 PM

If you can't quit, then keep smoking.

Interesting philosophy you have here.

The only thing stopping me from smoking is George Harrison.

7100

Lunch 01-12-2006 03:24 PM

I just didn't enjoy cigarettes when I tried it and never had any desire to smoke again.

He's touring this spring for an album he is working on right now.

He's playing two dates in Toronto, New York, Chicago, SAn Fransisco and L.A..

Speaking of spring, that what it looks and feels like here, there's practically no snow anymore and its been sunny and warm here all day.

And this is Canada.....

MidnightRider 01-12-2006 03:28 PM

I only smoke socially, I go through maybe a pack every two weeks.

Hehe, not trying to go against the trend, but it wouldn't look very good if I posted my post count.

magicbus 01-12-2006 03:38 PM

I only smoke when I'm drunk, but not everytime I'm drunk. It'd take me a month or two to go through a pack.

Same way here too. I think it was supposed to go up to 60F today. Normally we'd be lucky to get above 35 this far into January.

I live on the gulf coast, so the warm weather is actually normal here.
I smoke a pack every day and a half.

It was reaalll nice here today, almost all the snow melted, and it was actually a decent temperature, 50-60 degrees.

Except for the fact that i was stuck in school taking my finals:(

PinkFreud 01-12-2006 04:27 PM

i smoke/d a pack a day. sometimes a pack and a half.

3,771

Illmatic 01-12-2006 04:28 PM

I would smoke a pack a week, roughly, but my gf said that if I didn't quite she was gonna leave me.

So I quit.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 01-12-2006 07:04 PM

I'm starting to think David Gilmour is vastly overrated in these parts....

Somewhat relating to that topic: Today I listened to Meddle today for the first time in almost a year. (lost mine) I finally discovered the greatness of "San Tropez". I didn't really like it at first but I'm really digging the Jazzy vocals and smooth guitar soloing.

My best friend got arrested for felony charges today. :-/
And what's with everybody posting their postcount?
His was 1700, mine was 7100, somewhat similiar. That's why I posted it at least. It was all following suit from then on.

Phallus Dei 01-12-2006 07:11 PM

Went and jammed with some friends today, all we played is Nirvana for like 2 hours. Needless to say a little peice of me is dead. :(

MBS 01-12-2006 07:37 PM
all we played is Nirvana for liek 2 hours
Oh, man that must suck. I talked for 30 minutes about music theory with my geometry teacher after school.

robo2448 01-12-2006 07:44 PM

I didn't do anything special music related today that I can remember. But I do start my History of Pop Music in America course in a couple weeks. The guy who teaches is it is a really cool hippie, and the kids who took it this semester said all they do is watch Allman Brother concerts and stuff like that. I can't wait. It'll be awesome.

MBS, did you ever review Concert for George? I want to read it if you did.

Frank Zappa is freaking wierd.

dr._feelgood 01-12-2006 07:44 PM

Nirvana isn't that bad :upset:
