So the Chad hacking are over.........

Not like it ever effected me.

RockAndRoll 01-10-2006 08:18 PM

What was up with all that? Who is chad?

robo2448 01-10-2006 08:20 PM
Can you imagine the type of responses we'd get if we changed the title to the **Official Drug Thread**
Ha that'd be great.

Chad was banned for spamming and then he took out his anger by hacking the forum. He hijacked Morrissey's account and used it to change all the thread titles in the Pit to silly names and such. Never affected me, but life's easier for the mods now that it's over.

Krabsworth 01-10-2006 08:36 PM

Meh, it is only the pit that got affected.....and Indie

*snobby laugh*

JonG 01-10-2006 08:38 PM

Sorry about the drug talk, I just thought Schyma or 'moon would be able to fill me in.

Well, actually they just gave him his account back and now he's helping restore the holes in the site.

/is drasticaly late for every topic :(

Broken Arrow 01-10-2006 08:50 PM

Oh yeah, I just found a program called Copy Pod that can restore everything I had on my iPod which wouldn't be all of my music but It would restore about 20GB of music onto my iTunes and I can scrounge up everything I didn't currently have on it later.

It costs $20 bucks to download though. I downloaded the trial version but tha only lets 100 get transfered. I tried it out and it seemed to work pretty good.

I'm willing to pay the money.

Phallus Dei 01-10-2006 09:44 PM

I'm sure you could just get a cracked version somewhere on the internet. How'd you lose all your music?

Oh man after hearing that in gym yesterday I've had it stuck in my head ever since and I really don't know the lyrics so I just sorta been half assing the lyrics just saying "Funky music" and "Dixie Land" here and there.

The kid that ratted out my best friend a few days ago got a huge black eye yesterday must've fell down some stairs......;)

On Friday, I'm expecting to trip on acid which will also be the same day my little brother will be born. I hope that doesn't sound bad.......it's also Friday the 13th.

May I just say that I am loving "You've Got To Hide Your Love Away" right now. It's the first time I've posted in here and I couldn't be bothered reading the 1807 pages.

I_love_germans 01-11-2006 09:07 AM

I was born to be a classic rock fanatic. I have loved it since before I was born, as my mum used to play "Comfortably Numb" to me while she was still pregnant with me. I worship bands like Pink Floyd (my god they are the best...Dave Gilmour is my god...), Queen, Yes (prog rock I know, but hey), Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Eric Clapton, etc. My mum used to play "Comfortably Numb" to me while she was still pregnant with me. There is no genre greater than rock, classic rock in particular. I hate hip-hop. The biggest hip-hop stars are just f*cking posers, with their sh*tty "phat beats" and "pimped-out rides", and who clam to have the most ho's. God I hate them. Rock gods are true musicians and performers, who write their own music, such as Dave Gilmour, Brian May, Freddie Mercury, Jon Anderson, etc.

P.S. sorry for ranting.
Not the same thing at all, opium is no opiate.
I'm sure it is; heroin is refined from morphine is refined from opium.

Incidentally, I picked up Who's Next some time in my absence, and then got Help! for Christmas. I am such a classic rocker.

robo2448 01-11-2006 10:15 AM

Mine:

sgt. peppers - 5/5
with a little help from my friends - 4.5/5
lucy in the sky with diamonds - 5/5
getting better - 4/5
fixing a hole - 2.5/5
she's leaving home - 2.5/5
mr kite - 3.5/5
within you without you - 4/5
when i'm sixty four - 4/5
lovely rita - 5/5
good morning good morning - 4.5/5
sgt peppers reprise - 5/5
a day in the life - 5/5

As you can see from my ratings, I think the middle of the album there from Fixing a Hole to Within You Without You can get a little tiresome sometimes. I honestly enjoy every single one of these songs though, just compared them to other Beatles songs their not as strong. I had to rate them a little harsh because the songs don't measure up to standards set by Abbey Road and Rubber Soul. All the songs are still good though.

You've Got to Hide Your Love Away is amazing. Lennon's Dylan impression. Awesome song.

I hate being sick.

Yep, yep. I believe Opiate refers to substances derived from the opium poppy (herion, morphine, codeine, opium, etc.)

Hey, did anyone know it was Joan Baez's birthday on Monday?
Joan Baez is cool. I think I'll buy a greatest hits of hers or something sometime. She's got a really great voice.

The original is awesome and really psychelic but I've been listening to a live acoustic version I have. It has an extra verse that George Harrison wrote when they were in India together. So that makes it automatically awesome. I don't even know the name of this Donovon album I've been listening to. Someone uploaded it ages ago and named it Sunshine Superman, but I checked on allmusic.com, and it's not that. According to allmusic, it's called Live in Concert, but anyways, it's awesome.

BigTrav415 01-11-2006 02:53 PM

I got a conservative estimate of 60 bazillion comments about my Let It Be sweatshirt today... it was pretty cool. This girl that I thought was really dumb named all four Beatles, which is pretty rare in this day and age. Pretty cool.

It slightly crappier news, I'm getting surgery tomorrow :( I tore my left ACL (ligament in your knee) about a month or so ago now playig basketball, and I'm finally getting it fixed. As far as I know, I'll lie down on the bed, they'll give me a partial pain block from the waist down (according to a guy at my school, they stick a six-inch needle between your spine vertebrae and put 24 fl. oz. of happy juice into your system), then they will probably do some form of anesthesia, then they'll cut a small hole in one side of my knee for the camera and one in the other for the actual tools, then hopefully scrape some muscle from my hamstring and sew the two severed ends of my ACL back together with that. Unfortunately, if it turns out my hamstring is too flexible, they'll have to scrape my patella, meaning they'll have to put a big cut right down my kneecap skin and scrape there, leaving me a long purple scar the size of Phallus Dei on my kneecap :( It doesn't even look cool, it looks like a surgery scar, not like a "yeah, ripped my leg open skateboarding down Mount Everest" kind of scar. (I know, my sister tore her ACL and had to have a patella scrape). So just pray for me that I don't get a nasty uncool scar on my knee. And that I don't have some sort of huge complication and die. Yeah, I guess that's more important.

Dang that sucks :( If it's worth anything I've had to have it done twice (one surgery per knee), for more than just my ACL :(

PinkFreud 01-11-2006 03:05 PM

you're lucky its on your knee. in pre-school during nap-time, i was climbing up to the top bunk (we had bunk beds for some stupid reason) and a girl was already there. she pushed me down and i scraped my cheek half off on the wooden ladder. now i have a scar on my cheek that just looks like an acne scar. not cool.

edit: i didnt mean lucky about surgery. just dont be worried about the scar.

MidnightRider 01-11-2006 03:07 PM

Good luck with that man, surgery scares me.

The other day in World History class we took one of those tests to let the teacher know where everyone stands, and one of the questions was "Who were the 4 members of The Beatles." Only 6 out of 27 people in the class got it right. :(

Broken Arrow 01-11-2006 03:08 PM

That sucks man.

I don't really have much to add except that I'll be getting my David Gilmour tickets this weekend when they go on sale. :)

robo2448 01-11-2006 03:12 PM

That really sucks. I still remember a few years ago in when Willis McGahee got his torn ACL in the Rose Bowl. It was one of the most brutal injuries I have ever seen. If it makes you feel any better, he's still a great NFL running back, so once he recuperated, he was just as good as before.

I'll hopefully be getting David Gilmour tickets this weekend too.

Broken Arrow 01-11-2006 03:14 PM

Yeah, I'm actually pretty surprised about that. I learned firsthand that once you get back on the field/court after major knee surgery, your performance suffers because your confidence suffers. You get more worried about re-injuring the knee and whether or not it will hold up than about playing well. The book Friday Night Lights touches on this quite well, actually.

Friday Night Lights is a great book. Good movie too.

Gilmour's at Radio City Music Hall for 2 nights.
