Hey, I have a question. Do you guys have a rep button under your posts? I am still aloud to rep people, but it doesn't matter, b/c I have no rep points...I just would like to double check.

Permanent Solution 03-06-2005 09:54 PM

No one can rep without stars.
Are the players at fault? Partly. But don't forget that David Stern is one of the best commissioners in professional sports (Paul Taglibue being ranked up there as well). Gary Bettman is a conniving, cheap bastard who refuses to cooperate and give hockey players an opportunity. The man is has such tunnel vision, he refuses to compromise. The things that Stern has done this year, in terms of Ron Artest, the All-Star game, and so on is extremely commendable. Bettman has done nothing to show that he cares for the well-being of his league. The same can't be said about Stern. I'm sure you're aware that Bettman never attended an NHL game before becoming commish. That's a bit strange, don't you agree?
That doesn't change the fact that NHL players are selfish too.
i'd hafta say baseball is the most boring on tv. and hockey is only boring on tv to anyone that can't follow it.
I could say the same about baseball. I think baseball is great, but I grew up with it.

No, I'm telling you to STFU and stop complaining. You have cable, change the fucking channel. It's really not that hard of a concept to grasp.

You brought up NBA players' selfishness so I feel compelled to fire back.

And no, I do not think that the NHL requires as much as skill as the NBA, NFL, MLB, or international hockey.

yes they are selfish. but what about bonds complainin awhile ago? and baseball players are selfish too. the steroids is just crazy.

steriods --> more power --> bigger pay check. i think that's selfish. but kudos to all the ones that do real work to be good :thumb:

and i grew up with baseball too, i just think its boring on tv. it's a great event when your there. whats different about hockey then like basketball or football? you run/skate up and down a court/rink/field to try and score points. what makes hockey so boring?
And no, I do not think that the NHL requires as much as skill as the NBA, NFL, MLB, or international hockey
.

only cuz of the goalie's pads. i'd like to see nba, nfl, and mlb players on ice tryin to play hockey

You felt compelled to fire back because you thought you had an argument, or because you've played basketball all your life and you passionately love the game so much... and you missed out on the opportunity to play college ball because you fucked up your knees and the only thing you can do is play pick-up games and dream about what could have been?

All professional athletes are selfish, so we're wasting time there.

What makes hockey more boring than basketball or football? It's not that there's less scoring, it's just that there's less scoring opportunities. Imagine if in basketball, the ballhandler was allowed to be checked and assaulted at will. Or if in football, the refs never called pass intereference and safeties could take recievers out at will before the pass. That's what hockey's like.

Hi, everyone. Who wants to bring me up to speed again? Last night was a good time, I went to NCI and got a Hani. There are no NCIs on the westside of the state, and that's depressing. Today I was a bit under the weather.

How are you all doing?

No, I just hate idiots. Step down for a minute and cool your jets.

I have no troubles with DN, I'm glad that people can argue about sports. I've played them my whole life, and so has he, from what I gather. There's no trouble here, so stop being a Mountie and get off your horse.

you can tell who doesn't watch hockey. theres a penalty called "interference" and it says that your not allowed to do that. there are a lot of scoring opportunities if you watch and pay attention, it's this thing called "defense" that does the job to keep them from it

No, I was unbanned during that time, but I have no rep points now though.

The reason the stars are there is a mistakeon Jeremys part, he is trying to fix it.
