The Sword are playing with Valient Thorr and Black Cobra. Anyone heard anything about them?

I've heard a few songs by Valient Thorr, they're decent. If anything, they should be fun to drink to.

The Note in Chicago (formerly The Blue Note). I just checked it out and it looks like a pretty awesome place... it's right on Milwaukee Ave.

It doesn't say anything about it being 21+ on the site, but I e-mailed the place just to make sure...

I downloaded a full length and a split with Church of Misery. They are playing on the 16th with a band called Murderjunkies and then with Zoroaster in February.

Badass. The only weird thing is that the show on the 16th is at 4pm haha

ok, i know next to nothing about Stoner metal, but i'm interested. i got Electric Wizard's Dopethrone about 2 weeks ago and have listened to it about 3 times, i love it. i don't really know who else to check out though. help?

as far as doom metal goes i've only found about 10 bands i like so far but a really good one that comes to mind is Pentagram. I have Be Forewarned and it is awesome. everyone here had probably heard the album but if not i recommend it.

Get [I]Bullhead[/I] by the Melvins, [I]Heavy Rocks[/I] by Boris, and [I]Sleep's Holy Mountain[/I] by Sleep, and that should tide you over for a while.
