Well, Frances just passed through and on my street alone, 4 trees fell over. A family friend recently shot himself, which is weird because he recently got married and bought a house in Maryland. That was kind of weird. And after about 4 months of a very tight budget, my mom finally got a job with medical insurance, car allowance, and monthly bonuses.

Jim Hull 09-07-2004 03:44 AM

Night. Well after two hard days, and hours on the phone to AOL who have no ****ing idea, I finally got xbox live to work! The AOL software prvented the xbox from connecting to the DNS servers and, as usual, AOL could not help. What I had to do was bypass the AOL software and get the VPN address through IE. Anyone else play live?

popinfresh 09-07-2004 03:54 AM

I want to, I havn't played my xbox in like a year or so.. lol.
Live would be awesome, but costs money :upset:

Jim Hull 09-07-2004 03:55 AM

Have you got broadband?
Indeed.
Its only £40 for a year. Its so worth it.

popinfresh 09-07-2004 05:26 AM

If I get another job soon I will. I want CS on live. And then when Conkers live comes out... that's going to be wicked. Best. 64. Game. Ever.

Espbassor 09-07-2004 07:44 AM

Well good morning MX. Currently it's 9:30 am here in PA, where I am sitting in class after about 4 hours of sleep. For some reason, that's the best sleep I've been getting. I think thats mostly due the the stress from school/band/life etc...

School for some reason got a lot harder for me to do anything in. A few semesters ago I was a model student. This semester I had to drop a class, failing one class beyond redemption, and may fail another one if I can't make this paper really good before the deadline. So, in all, I've passed one class without worry. Me am so smrt.

...and if I somehow manage to pass my classes, I'll only have a few more semesters of class left before I graduate college and go off into the real world  I know everyone says this, but I'm really not ready for this. I don't think the major I'm in (Corporate Cyber Security, ie Anti-hacking) appeals to me any more. Ever since I started playing bass, I've felt that I wanted to do something with it, but never thought I was good enough. Now I don't know if I have the kind of time and money for the schooling to do any professional teaching so if I wanted to do something with it, I'd basically have to hope this band works. Unless I missed something...which is more then likely :thumb:

Whelp whatever, just wanted to get that off my chest.

ShelBel 09-07-2004 07:48 AM

Hey ESP.

Don't worry too much about it. You're not the first one to have college-major-crisis. My best advice for you is to do what you enjoy, because what's the point of being miserable? If doing the band thing is what you want, then do it. Enjoy it. I'm assuming you're fairly young and probably unmarried, so really, there's nothing holding you back. Find a good agency to represent you and get you some gigs and go from there. Network with your fellow musicians- bands are always changing lineups, you never know what might come your way.

Best of luck to you. And feel free to ignore my advice.

...

I really could throw my computer out the window right now.

I spent most of yesterday trying to fix this stupid glitch in IE. You know.. reinstalling windows.. then uninstalling IE, reinstalling it... etc... which only made everything worse, because then I was missing critial updates for windows... but the glitch in IE... means I couldn't download them. HA!

So I spent a good portion of time using Opera to download all the packages I was missing...

problem is still there.

So now... I guess I have two options... well.. three. Use opera for the rest of my life... let my brother fiddle with my computer again (we were both doing things to it yesterday.. but me moreso than him) or call microsoft and be all like WTF!?!!

Crazy weekend I just had.... started off great o saturday me and my guitas finished writing two new songs for my band. And later that day our ex-drummer finally realised that he was out of the band (he's a bit slow). To tel the truth, what we did to him was fairly bad... we found a new drummer and he wanted us to send him some records so we gotta our old drummer to us record the songs... now he found out about the new drummer and found out that I open an account at soundclick and posted up some songs and didn't mention him at all (hey, he didn't help write the songs at all...). Now he's holding the rest of the songs that we recorded (which he hadn't sent to be yet) hostage. The thing is, I really don't wanna piss him off cos he's helping me buy a Digitech BP200 from ebay and sell my Boss ODB-3... if that falls through it would suck really really bad... so i've gotta tread clearfully.

You can listen to the songs that I did get off him at www.soundclick.com/undercaseeye

Samm 09-07-2004 08:08 AM

****, LR bad break... but congrats on your 6000th post.

jazzfunkboy 09-07-2004 08:23 AM

back from school! whoow!

cool stuff:

it wasnt that bad actually. i met some kids i havent seen in months, and got a ride home with a fellow bassist (hes a kewl cat). there wasnt much girl interaction sadly :upset:

classes:

my teachers seem nice enough. except for (strangly) my study hall. it was really awckward in there for some reason. my latin 3 class is gonna kick ***, all the kids in that class are the cool kind of smart kids, and i know them all. alot of them are musicians.

Hello everyone, what are you up to? I'm here at work, just got here 8:30 AM, and I have the worst hang-over in years. It's weird though, cause sometimes I get even drunker and don't sleep and feel better than today even when I managed to sleep like 4 hours, strange. Must be getting old...

Anyhow, I got home last night like 3 AM and started to play bass un-plugged, hadn't done that in a while, it's just so cool.

They call him Astro Man
And he's flyin' higher than
That faggot Superman
Ever could

Oh, they call him cosmic nut
And he's twice as dense as Donald Duck
And he'll try his best to screw you up
The rest of your mind
Oh, look out! My guitars

Man I love that song.
