Who said Black Sabbath didn't have classical influences anyway? "Don't Start (Too Late)", anybody?
I thought this was over, and I havn't heard that song although I fully understand Fluff is very classical. I'll admit I was wrong about the whole classical for metal and blues for rock, but in my eyes Black Sabbath is Hard Rock. Can we end this now please?

Jude 10-09-2005 09:37 PM

The point is IN GENERAL metal is classical and rock is blues influenced. This is not a blanket statement at ALL. If you nitpick stuff like that you'll never be able to discuss anything ever.

rippa32 10-10-2005 04:40 AM

Hey what was that for? I tried to end the **** thing.

rippa32 10-12-2005 12:33 AM

Ah 5th page. Well seeing as trivia is getting old ill start a discussion on something Black Sabbath related. Ok lets discuss Tony's signature guitar. I personally don't know much about it but you guys might.

Brew 10-12-2005 08:32 AM

My friend has a black Gibson SG just like Iommi's, all its missing is the signature features like crosses on the fretboard etc...

I once saw a video where he wasn't using a SG, I was in shock.

rippa32 10-12-2005 09:33 PM

What guitar was it? Also it's a little known fact Iommi doesn't play SG's  . He actually plays SG copies, I forget which brand though. Well he used to play em until his signature guitar came out.

EDIT: He actually used a few different brands but the most famous is the Jaydee I think.

Yes, he used custon SG Styles by JayDee.

rippa32 10-13-2005 04:56 AM

I also heard B.C Rich made an SG for him.

Brew 10-13-2005 09:28 AM
I also heard B.C Rich made an SG for him.
I think it was a B.C Rich, but not his SG model.

If I'm right, its in the video for The Shining.

shadow_stalker 10-13-2005 12:38 PM

I dont like Tony's guitar, it just makes me think of Angus young from AC/DC.

classicrockman 10-13-2005 12:40 PM
I dont like Tony's guitar, it just makes me think of Angus young from AC/DC.
Two completely different tones from the same guitar.

shadow_stalker 10-13-2005 12:52 PM

I meant the look of it rather than the sound, don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with them i just don't like the guitars for some reason

Brew 10-13-2005 01:05 PM

I just ordered my ticket for An Evening with Ronnie James Dio next Tuesday :)

Kronos 10-13-2005 01:28 PM
I just ordered my ticket for An Evening with Ronnie James Dio next Tuesday :)
Excellent! I'm afraid I forgot about him in my excitement about Paradise Lost/Nightwish :upset: I think he played the UEA in Norwich on Tues.11th. It's only an hour's drive from me and I FORGOT. Blast!
Have a great time :thumb:

PS let us know if the old short one still rocks

You lucky, lucky bastard. I'm extremely jealous. :upset:

Anyway, have a good time. :)

rippa32 10-14-2005 12:23 AM

Okay going to get a new Black Sabbath album soon. Eternal Idol or Mob Rules?

Brew 10-14-2005 10:22 AM

Hmm.

If you like Dio more, get Mob Rules.

If you like Tony Martin more, get Eternal Idol.

Both are great albums.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Dio, I'm going by myself though :(

rippa32 10-14-2005 07:56 PM

Id go, but the whole not living in England thing kinda doesn't help. What Dio solo albums do you have brum?

classicrockman 10-14-2005 09:11 PM

Get 'Mob Rules.' I have both...and I perfer 'Mob Rules.'

rippa32 10-15-2005 03:59 AM

So classicrockman you're a bit of a newbie in this Sabbath thread so ill ask you what I ask nearly everybody. What Sabbath albums do you have? :thumb:

Brew 10-15-2005 05:26 AM
Id go, but the whole not living in England thing kinda doesn't help. What Dio solo albums do you have brum?
Holy Diver, The Last in Line, Dream Evil and Dio: The Collection.

I want to get more Dio albums, but I have a lack of money :(

Also, did you guys see my post in the Fanboyism thread about Sabbath? If not then the link will be here in a moment...

If you start crying every time someone brings up a point to confront your opinion, you'll never learn anything. Grow the fuck up.
If you start crying every time someone brings up a point to confront your opinion, you'll never learn anything. Grow the fuck up.
Dude this argument was dead, just say you all have your own opinions and drop it

rippa32 10-15-2005 05:51 AM
If you start crying every time someone brings up a point to confront your opinion, you'll never learn anything. Grow the fuck up.
Look I am really sick of you. All you do here is piss everyone off. I actually ended that fukin argument and all you do is piss and moan about my opinion's being confronted, and that I should understand other peoples opinions. Isnt that what I did? You're the one that needs to get over it and grow the **** up.

Brew 10-15-2005 06:42 AM
If you start crying every time someone brings up a point to confront your opinion, you'll never learn anything. Grow the fuck up.
Everything that you say is worthless and backwards, your opinions are the worst I have ever seen, please stop being such an annoying little 14yr old child and get the fuck out of this thread.

Lupus 10-15-2005 06:54 AM

Give me a break. Yeah, I'm the one who's pissing and moaning. I'm not the one who made a statement which I couldn't back up and tried to end the argument by admitting that the whole basis of my argument was fundamentally wrong on both fronts, but saying that my opinion was unswayed. The bottom line is that you are a ***** who doesn't have the balls to admit he's wrong.
Everything that you say is worthless and backwards, your opinions are the worst I have ever seen, please stop being such an annoying little 14yr old child and get the **** out of this thread.
Pure unadultered hypocrisy.

Brew 10-15-2005 07:03 AM

!

You do realise I wasn't being serious with that post right?

Lupus 10-15-2005 07:07 AM

With the retarded shit that you've said so far, I wouldn't be surprised if you were serious.

Brew 10-15-2005 07:18 AM

I forgot I had to take the internet seriously.

Lupus 10-15-2005 07:27 AM

If you come to an online forum just so you can not take it seriously, you're a very sad, pathetic man indeed.

Six Foot Revolver 10-15-2005 07:33 AM
If you come to an online forum just so you can take it seriously, you're a very sad, pathetic man indeed.
Fixed.

The reason I post on MX is for fun so I really can't see why I should be serious all the time on these boards.

Brew 10-15-2005 07:38 AM

Yes, I'm sad and pathetic because I like to have fun online.

I'm fed up of the same discussions being brought up in here every 3months or so due to n00bs like yourself who're either too lazy to read the thread or feel that they have to include their views on things.

This has become just like a community thread over the past 6months or so, all the regulars know each other and we joke around etc. Just because you like to take the internet seriously doesn't mean that I and the others have to aswell. You really think I got all these posts by being serious in every thread?

You need to understand that we really can't be arsed with you anymore, feel free to keep posting in here but don't expect many serious replies to your questions or statements.

rippa32 10-15-2005 06:45 PM

Wow, new look. When did this happen. Or is my browser ****ting itself again?
But anyway brum I thought you were being serious.

geezer6970 10-15-2005 07:31 PM

Brew 10-16-2005 03:16 AM
Wow, new look. When did this happen. Or is my browser ****ting itself again?

It all changed last night, I'm not so keen on this new look at the moment, its weird.

rippa32 10-16-2005 04:16 AM

It is wierd, that large font for names I can get used to but the quick reply box looks ... cheap.

Brew 10-16-2005 05:03 AM

None of the buttons work for me in the Quick Reply box (Bold, Underline etc..)

rippa32 10-16-2005 05:33 AM

Hey me neither probably aesthetic, too bad it looks ugly. Hey brum do you have that Masterclass with Tony Iommi DVD?
