Proof that drugs don't pay, my friend. The downside definitely outweighs the positive when it comes to smoking.

But then again, I've never smoked, so I don't really know what I'm missing. :)

Yeah, you're not missing much. Just very bad times overpowering good times.

Beer > Drugs anyway :p

Meh, you're not missing out, pot's overrated. EverytimeIBodom, that sucks that you can't see bodom, but...well other people have already commented on your story.

EverytimeIBodom 09-02-2005 07:46 PM

I'm missing bodom....Oh the sadness / anger is overwhelming.

Don't worry, I've heard they're touring twice....just don't get yourself grounded this time around :p

That's what I thought. Drugs and smoking never appealed to me at all, but I'd like to have an alcohol experience. A greater instant effect without the severe, lifelong damage. :) Unless od course you become a serious alcoholic, but that's a completely different story.

Marijuana will do the same, you could do it once and be much less fucked than if you drink heavily. Drinking heavily includes barfing, regrets and a hangover.

Knowing my dad, I'll still be grounded my second time. I wouldn't be surprised if he grounded me till next summer. I would be angry, but not surprised.

Shadows 09-02-2005 07:54 PM

But all of that will be gone in a day(s). Smoking heavily can permanently damage your brain, along with the rest of your body. Drinking can dmage your brain and liver but you'd have to be a major drinker before that sets in. Getting drunk once in a while is much, much less dangerous than smoking once in a while.

Exactly.

I can't believe how many times you've said exactly what I was going to say, haha. We would get along great in real life.

Getting really drunk once in a while will be worse than getting really high once in a while, I've been through both stages. You would need to smoke quite a bit before any real damage gets done to your brain or lungs. You could die from alcohol poisoning the first time you get drunk. No one has ever died from marijuana overdose.

That is scientifically false. Drinking once in a while won't affect your body any worse than if you were drinking Coke (unless you get incredibly smashed). Smoking builds up the damage every time you do it, no matter how infrequent you do it.
Exactly.

I know. :) It's weird. Judging by what I know of your taste in music, I'd say we'd get along beautifully in real life.

No one has ever died from a marijuana overdose???? *sigh* Like I said, you'd have to go all-out and really drink insanely to die from alcohol poisoning in one go.

It depends on the person, but usually drugs are much worse.

Depending how regularly you do it, it could take decades for that to add up to anything serious/

Same with drinking. But smoking builds up no matter what. There's nothing you can do. If you drink and maybe get drunk every once in a while, you'll wake up with a hangover, get over it, and be perfectly fine with no long-term effects.

You're much more likely to embarass yourself or do something you regret if you're drunk. And you won't remember anything at all if you get really smashed. Where with Marijuana, you could get **** high and at least remember what you did.

Emberassing yourself while drunk is hardly life threatening.

Shattered_Future 09-02-2005 09:05 PM

Howzabout you make it easy and just do neither?

I mean, nothing against drinking, in moderation...but I don't think getting hammered is going to help you at all.

Smoking I'm just against...screws up your memory big time.

I find I'm much dumber when I'm drunk, I jump off things, walk into streets without looking, almost got hit once, by a **** hummer too.

It really depends on the person, for example, one of my friends has terrible terrible memory, but mine is fine.

roulette dares 3 09-03-2005 08:48 AM

alelxi laiho is no longer in COB!!

Shadows 09-03-2005 08:51 AM

What the hell are you talking about?

roulette dares 3 09-03-2005 08:54 AM

sorry im new here so im not sure if you guys already knew that or not..but i read it on their official site so i think its true

Shadows 09-03-2005 08:56 AM

Well, then welcome. But I can assure you it's not true. The day Alexi leaves is the day CoB dies.

I just checked the CoB official site and Scythes of Bodom, and they have nothing about it. It wouldn't make any sense to leave your band just before the release of a new album and te start of a world tour anyway.

roulette dares 3 09-03-2005 09:05 AM

oh **** im sorry guys i meant alexander has left (i misread)..im new to the band so im not sure whos who in tha band except for alexi. When i read alexander has left i assumed it was alexi but obviously not since alexi IS THE BAND. but yeah COB are awesome, and alexi is one of the best guitarists out there..plus he shares my favourite guitarist randy rhoades

Shadows 09-03-2005 09:09 AM

It's oaky. Alexander was the rhythm guitarist and left a few years ago. Roope Latvala (originally from Stone) took his place. It's good to see more CoB fans out there. Alexi is my favorite guitarist alongside Matt Bachand and Jon Donais.

Hells Bells 09-03-2005 09:19 AM

heh...I made that same mistake. I got into bodom after Alexander left. Not knowing the band that well, I confused Alexi with Alexander, and freaked thinking that my new favourite band had lost it's lead guitarist. Luckily that was not the case, because then bodom really would have been dead.

hmm.....my display pic isn't working......it looks like mush instead of a piano.

roulette dares 3 09-03-2005 09:23 AM

alexi is definately one of my favourite guitarist...the first cob song i heard was children of bodom, alexi has a really good melodic yet flashy technique which really makes him stand out. i mite decide to buy a cob cd, but which one first? and are his vocals always like that (it took a while to get use to).
